Yep same here. Input device number is not correct. Error code 1.

First update went thru just fine.

My version before the first update was 2.006000 now it is 2.100000. I thought it would be 3.0.

Or will it display 3.0 after i update with the 2nd card?

Check out my post here viewtopic.php?f=32&t=26118&start=150 with screen shots for the 2nd update, yes it is pushed to 3.02 after the second card is installed.

So its update to 2.1, put in second card, updates map data, then updates 2.1 to 3.02

Anyone can update to 2.1, why they dont have that as the last update for 2.0 folks is beyond me.

There has to be some cleanup on the official 3.0 update topics, we have 3 running threads right now and there is information people are not getting simply because its scattered.

I hate to put up duplicate posts, but what is the alternative?

How many people, that have gotten the error message, have their units registered with Pioneer? I'm just wondering, I have my update but not going to install it until this problems is resolved. Mine is registered but don't know if that would make a difference.

Posted Aug 15, 2009 · 20:33 UTC#31

I registered Mine a year ago when i got it. I Have the problem as well.

Me too - another fine feather in Pioneer's cap. What a POS.

ummm, how is it their falt that they had an earthquake where there servers are located. I mean really guys, there are some things you just have to not blame on them as being their fook up.

They DO HAVE back-ups . . worldwide servers . . USA site . . .

Earthquake IS NOT the problem . .

Are you crazy! if an earthquake was the problem then you would not even get the page to input the codes to begin with!! This is just typical Pioneer bull sh*t! I will never never buy a pioneer product again. It is getting time to start a class action suit.

Go right ahead, file your suit, and make those lawyers lots of money, since it will never get you or any other consumer any benefit. And feel free to never buy anything Pioneer makes again, we won't miss ya..

Stuff happens, servers crash, processes don't always work the way we want, be a grown up and just wait it out instead of it all being about "me me me me" and "now now now now" it's the real world, we're not all winners, and we don't always get ice cream, and occasionally we buy something that later on we decide we don't like.

Exactly. From a technical perspective, layers 1-7 of the OSI model all have full connectivity. If the earthquake really took down the server you wouldn't even be able to ping it, much less pull up a full web page that says you have an invalid device number.

Earthquake = not related to this outage by any stretch of the imagination.

someone probly hacked their site and screwed us over in the process.

Posted Aug 15, 2009 · 23:53 UTC#38

If i paid for a service, i should have full access to that service. You can file a complaint with the BBB or some consumer advocate agency, but this is getting to be rediculous. This is the same instance of going to restaurant. They screw you over; they must compensate you, its calle best business practices.

Web pages don't necessarily have anything to do with the systems they're displaying, they can be on opposite sides of the world for all we know.

That being said IF the earthquakes brought everything down and they really had no DR plan in place then that's just stupid.

I dont get how they cant generate a password for us on their end if we were to call. :(

There is no unit out there that I am aware of that looks as nice as the Avic. A lot of the units have these tacky menus.

Posted Aug 16, 2009 · 03:50 UTC#41

The worst part about this is v2.10 sucks! My unit now has crippling issues. The graphics driver is not refreshing the screen and playing MP3's from an SD card is painful. There is a one minute or so pause between every song and the ID3 titles don't update unless I push a function to force a refresh.

So in short to those of you that have not started the process yet. Wait until the server comes back up so you won't be stuck using 2.10.

This is not necc true. Just because the website that is hosted on US soil is giving us a page. A backend datasource that could be anywhere in the world(Japan?) could be offlined.

The fact that there is not backup to that datasource is just poor design. It is horrible design to have an application querying data from all of the way around the world. It is so easy to replicate data and have it available in multiple locations.

Amen... this is just extremely poor design. It looks like the frontend website simply checks for formatting before calling the database (in Japan)... Definitely looks like it was rushed together without a lot of planning - probably by the same group that wrote the original version of the F-series O/S

+1 if you haven't started, DON'T

please keep us informed about the site as i am still waiting for the software to arrive.

Posted Aug 16, 2009 · 13:24 UTC#46

Anybody else notice that now the initial website comes back with a 503 error

"Service unavailable!

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later. "

At least they are doing something...

Posted Aug 16, 2009 · 13:28 UTC#47

Yeah i just got the same thing, maybe its being worked/rebooted?

Posted Aug 16, 2009 · 17:09 UTC#49

yeah its the one i am using and it does not work!!

Posted Aug 16, 2009 · 17:16 UTC#50

As of 1:15 EST still recieved the error 503 server unavailable message! This is bad business practice and i am surprised they do not have several mirror sites throughout the world to be able to take over in cases like this. On the downer side, having several earthquakes as Japan has had is terrible and of course hope they fare well and can get back to business as usual....

Have been anxiously awaiting my legal copy since July 3rd (as many of you have) and dissapointed to not get to try it out....especially with having a heavy traveling week coming up!!!

Pioneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrr!!!!!
