for last year update disc i used a circuit city inhouse brand called nextec they work perfect but since they are out of business im going to use tdk disc

i ended up using a Memorex DVD+R DL, i had no luck with the TDK. i am not really worried about what type of disc i am going to use at this point, can't get the stupid to start downloading with utorrent

im uploading with utorrent total upload speed so far at 2.9mbps

I'm new to Torrents, why does this even show an "upload" speed in uTorrent?

Torrents works as a distributed network. So you are both downloading parts from multiple people and uploading parts to different people. This way the network traffic is spread across a large group of people and prevents everyone getting things from only 1 source. Having a quality upload speed will help everyone get the parts they need quicker.

i download it fine..

I used PowerISO to convert then burn and got the completed message :)

I then put the disk in my D3 to get a error message. I tried restarting the unit with the disc just to make the D3 lock up and thought it was broken. I then restarted a 3rd time and was able to get the disc out.

I am not sure what I did wrong but I did not have this problem when I made a copy of my 08 map.

OK that makes two of us - burning goes fine, NAV unit cannot use the completed disc and errors out. Were you trying to use an East or West? Last year my 08 went fine as well.

The difference between last year's 80MT, is that it was zipped, and it unzipped to an ISO. This year, the RAR extracts to straight files. Just my $0.02.

Damn since it extracts to just the files someone with the original disks is going to have to look at what mode the disks are and also could be missing somethin...I'll test once I finish downloading....damn thing only dlin at 100kB got 42% done

edit::

since someone says it works hopefully its just a disk problem... also

anyone who has finished please continue to seed and leave the torrent running. if you don't know how to do that please ask!

Hey PT3005, I'm begging you can u post up a step by step on how to get this into an ISO format so I can burn it pleeeease? I got 50 Memorex dual layer DVD's to play with. I really can't remember how I done this last year. I'm just lost like Wally.

Yes a step by step on how to convert to iso would very helpful. I got the rest. I used alcohol 120 to burn the 80mt. I just need a how to on converting to iso. I've never done that before.

well what I did was install poweriso that was posted earlier on this forum and used the serial to activate it. here's what i did below

1. extract the rar file by right clicking on it and select extract to Pioneer East CNDV_90MT.

2. Open the Pioneer East CNDV_90MT folder and you will see the files, select all of the files right click and select poweriso and another menu will popup select Add To Image File...

3. Now Poweriso program should open up and you will see the files from the CNDV_90MT in the background but theres a box that pops up in the middle saying Save Image file to. I just selected the first radio button(.iso file) then below you can choose where you want to save the file to then press ok.

4. After a few minutes poweriso will create that iso image, so what i used to burn that iso was imgburn just make sure you burn at the slowest speed and verify the iso. Also Nero works too

Well the disc burned and seemed to do the update just fine. The map data appears to be OK. I still have to drive around to see if there are any glitches or problems, but on my unit the update worked fine via the East Disc.

I use a memorex DVD+R DL disc and burned at 2x on a 20" iMac with toast. Used UDF as the disc format.

EDIT:

After more testing the map data is not fully functional. The unit will upgrade, but you can not calculate a route due to insufficient map data. I am still trying to play with settings to get a working copy.

Has anyone tried buring/creating an ISO using Roxio Creator? I used that for the '08 map discs with no problems!

Listen people i made this torrent and i burn 20 set every day.

Unrar each file to a separate folder .. then use power iso to convert each set of files into an iso for burning.

set it on the lowest burning speed and check the box to verify the files....... VERIFY THE FILES ..

Then pop theme in your unit .. If you dont VERIFY THE FILES you may corrupt your unit ... Then you will have to rest set it

i keep getting the red download arrow. not sure why. just have to wait it out. i am glad it has worked for some of you guys

Posted Sep 30, 2009 · 23:46 UTC#197

WHere are you seeing a red download arrow? In your torrent software?

Posted Oct 01, 2009 · 00:35 UTC#198

in the utorrent software. says it's some kind of tracking arrow. if you look at the screen shot of the software that SWDW posted just a few posts back, it shows a red arrow pointing up in his shot. up, of course means that he is uploading. this is from the utorrent help section:

25. What do the red icons (/) mean on the torrent status icons?

These red icons indicate that µTorrent was not able to reach the tracker. This could happen when the tracker goes offline, becomes overloaded, or when the domain simply doesn't exist anymore. Check Tracker Status on the General tab to see what the exact error message is.

In many cases, seeing this (especially if you see hostname not found in Tracker Status) and having DHT on but still having no peers to connect to may mean that you'll have to find another copy of the torrent on another tracker.

In some cases, this is normal because the tracker is overloaded or temporarily down. The torrent itself should keep seeding/downloading as long as you got some peers, and if the tracker comes back up or becomes responsive, you should have no lost ratio so long as you don't close µTorrent or stop the torrent.

26. What do all the status icons mean?

means the torrent is downloading

means the torrent is downloading, but there is a tracker error (see question above)

means the torrent is seeding

means the torrent is seeding, but there is a tracker error (see question above)

means the torrent is a queued download

means the torrent is a queued seed

means the torrent is a stopped download

means the torrent is a stopped seed

means the torrent is paused

means the torrent has an error (check the status column)
