I read through them and deleted the canada maps, pois and speed cams. now the issue i am encountering is that after the pioneer splash screen, the screen stays black and ther is no reaction. i can get into the blue screen where you put in the up,up code and can get further but cant get into the windows type screen to try and recopy/rectify the problem i caused. any suggestions?

You have to put Testmode 2.3 files into a format SD card to boot into Testmode.
Search Testmode 2.3 for details.

No! The FX3.1 which also contains FW 3.0x and a modified version of iGo software, is only created to differentiate the stock FW3.0x with stock iGo software.
Quick question, i downloaded the files, put them on the SD card and got to the point where you have to Format via the SD card
About how long should that take? When i select that option my unit sits there for about 10 minutes and doesn't do anything.
Originally i was having some issues with the formatted files/mac combo and i've gotten past that .

Is anyone using a rear view camera with this fx3.1 image? I still can't seem to get mine to work. Only works when I manually turn it on from the av source. The reverse wire is connected to the reverse light wire and is getting around 13V power when the car is in reverse, and 0V in other gears. The camera is set to ON and Power in the settings/system settings/rear camera

Just did this - worked great on my 700BT. Followed the instructions exactly - new interface is SO much faster and the maps look better. My unit is much faster to grab GPS satellites on startup now too.

After spending a few hours in the car with this since yesterday, I can't believe how much better than stock it was. I imagined it would be a bit better, but not this good. The touch screen is actually responsive now. I don't have to keep hitting the same thing over and over again to get it to register, and it's FAST compared to what it was. Navigating the SD card interface is WAY faster, which is awesome because that's where all of my music is kept.
Props to the OP for this. I'll be seeding it all day as well.

I took it one step further and loaded the TA 2010 Q2 maps onto the card as well (eliminating the common ones like Mexico, Alaska et.al.) before I did the install saving a step. If I knew how, I would upload the image with the latest maps saving a few steps for everyone. I guess it's good time to learn...........
I'd just like to say THANKS. this fixed a "broken" avic-x710bt off of e-bay! I was constantly rebooting when it was powered up.

when you download a torrent you need people to "Seed" it so you can actually download it. If no one is seeding then you wont get the file.
i'm seeming to have problems with mine after doing the update... the update went smoothly but now when i go into 3d mode i can not see the surrounding street names on the map but when i switch to 2-d view its all there... what do i need to do? thanks.

I'm downloading right now, I'm excited as I'm currently running 2.08 and this things is soo slow and laggy. 1/2 the time I'll press the "OK" button on the NAG screen and it'll take a good minute before it decided to accept my input and clear the NAG screen!!!
Hopefully this update will make it so I don't want to rip the dang thing out every time I use it.
