Installing right now and already had two hickups as the unit had trouble with the update and had to retry. Luckly when you click on retry it starts off from where it left off. First hickup 6% and then at 70%.

Ok 1hour later, everything is running great. Unit is much more responsive, maps look cleaner and horrible high pitched ding when clicking through menus is replaced with soft ding.

Not sure what second SD card is for :?:

Thanks this is really encouraging.

I'm going to go ahead with my order

Thank you for sharing your experience, hchavez. I am amazed Pioneer actually replaced that obnoxious ding!

Just finished mine as well - and there ARE more options in various menus. Previously I could not get it to display the device number anywhere - pioneer guy I talked to at support said it will display when I boot from the SD card, and he was right. now, however, I have a new system info option that includes telling me the device number.

910BT, here's what mine updated:

APL - 2.020100 > 4.000100

DATA - 2.000100 - 3.000000

Map - up to 3.0 now, didn't display previous version.

Unit IS more responsive, and I just did the firmware update in May, so I had thought mine was as current as you can get. Maybe there was another download I wasn't aware of, however, there IS more to this evidently than maps alone for the 910BT if you're in the same state I was, this being a brand new purchase... Haven't done anything yet with the map since it's after 10 PM, my 6 year old is in bed and I don't want to leave him alone here to drive around and play, I can do that tomorrow.

Seem to have more options for sound control as well, things that I don't remember being there previously for settings, since I had been through this pretty thoroughly when I got it just a couple months ago for my new smart....

But not having the "old" options anymore I can't do a direct compare.

Certainly got my phonebook / contact info from my iPhone4 much quicker this time when i did a complete download/wipe of existing data.

Since I have a convertible, I'm hoping there's truth to whatever they were saying about helping it be visible in bright sunlight, but we'll see...

So what new options are saying you see?

Does this work with F90bt? I think I answered my own question but just want to make sure. Secondly - can someone who has it PM me please. Thanks.

Which TA maps are included with this update? Not the Map version 3.000 but the Data version like 2009Q4 etc?

Posted Jul 24, 2010 · 20:24 UTC#34

Well I would assume that means they are the 4th. quarter of the 2009 maps.

I was asking if that's the version included or a newer/older one?

Posted Jul 25, 2010 · 02:16 UTC#36

this forum would be good if the admin's included a "THANKS" button... so people could gauge who helps the most, by way of reputation. Instead of relying on post counts to try & work out who's helped out the most...

Yeah, another useless post for the subject... without any useful info. But, at least I'm gettin' my post count up

It says something like 2009.09, which I assume are 4thQ 2009 Maps.

Installed this update this afternoon. After using my F90BT all week last week on a trip to Florida, I can say it seems to be significantly faster. It did do a firmware update to version 4.0, and performed a 45 minute update of all of the data files.

One thing very interesting to note is that when I generated the password for my hardware ID and the media ID for the CNSD-200FM upgrade SD's, it gave me the exact same password as when I installed the CNSD-100FM update last year....

very interesting.... just sayin.... 8)

oh, BTW, I only had to use the B card in the package, and not the A card. Haven't really looked at the files, but I'm betting the A and B cards are used to go from version 2.xxx to 4.0 and B card only is for version 3.xxx to 4.0.

Sooo... For those who've installed this update, any luck booting to Testmode?

Works like a champ, no issues at all. Also I checked the firmware version; it now says 4.000010. I know it put an updated WINCE image on there during the update process.

Hey Soccercoach61

Thanks for the info. Good to know testmode still works. Do you have any mods installed on your unit and did the update adversely affect any of it? I just might do this update if Diaftia's & Abb1's mods will continue to work just fine with it.

Posted Jul 26, 2010 · 13:35 UTC#42

I put a clean install of 3.01 back on to do the upgrade. I have IDT's mods, so later today or tomorrow I'm going to reinstall them and check it for compatibility.

VBLUE42 is right about the screen photos from the post in the first page; it's not a photo of the UI for this update. From what I remember of the factory 3.01 firmware (I didn't stop to look yesterday when I reimaged it back to 3.01), the new UI looks a lot like the 3.01 UI - which was an improvement over the 2.xxx screens... I just haven't had time to go through all the menu options yet and look around.

Sounds good Chuck. Please let us know how it goes after you apply the mods. Thanks

I have "Map version: 01.000800" and "Version: 2.000000" according to the Service Information screen on my AVIC-F90BT. Can I just run this CNSD-200FM update to bring it to the latest version of everything, or do I need to run firmware update 2.0080 available at the Pioneer website before I run CNSD-200FM? Are the installation instructions the same as those found in Official 3.0 Update Tutorial? Thank you very much!

For anyone who can patiently wait to apply this update, you can save on shipping and taxes if you order CNSD-200FM from Amazon.com ("Usually ships within 1 to 2 months.") I did.

Posted Jul 27, 2010 · 01:53 UTC#45

You can install form any version.

Quick FYI for some who may consider ordering. I ordered mine on 7-22 and after not hearing any shipping information, decided to email and see what was up...I received this response:

Hello,

The item is temporarily on backorder, but is expected to ship during the

week of 8/9.

Have a great day,

I thought this was a bit strange for them to take my order, charge my card and not tell me this......

oh well just an FYI

how many of these things did they make? 12? how hard is it for an international multi-billion dollar company to copy some data on an SD card and put a sticker on it? thats like nike having shoe laces on backorder

Exactly.

A Giant company like this should be able to mass procure many of these and even make more quickly. It sux that they sent out the notice that the upgrade was available and then when you order-Tick Tock goes the wait clock!

As pissed as I am, I have to wait. I even called and they said that they "MAY" have them by the 9th. The one thing that I hate is being charged for something that I didn't get.....its like bait and switch..

Not good Customer Service...........

Does anyone know what the second SD card is for?

Posted Jul 31, 2010 · 20:16 UTC#50

Mine would only load from the second card - it didn't recognize the first card. I was upgrading from version 3.
