Here is the striped down version of the Avic X910 with update 3.010100. I also added some new mods to the basic install. This also has the WinCE file that was in the 3.010100 update. Please note that this does not have any MAPS, POI or DEM files. And alway back-up your files. This will work with your old MAPS, POI & DEM files. I added Direct Downloads to the files. This is now a full upgrade to 3.010100 & 2010 maps. Check out the Mods & Themes.

If you dont have a back up of your unit start here first. Don't skip this step or you might be sorry later. First make a copy of your old My Flash Drive folder before you do anything.

Make a Back-Up of your AVIC:

1. Copy just the Testmode folder to the root of your SD Card. This will boot the unit to the Wince menu.

2. Double Tap "My Device"

3. Copy the "My Flash Disk" to your "Storage Card' SD Card.

4. Copy files to your PC & burn a copy if you like.

If you already have a copy of your "Flash Disk" start here. Extract the Winrar zip file to the root of a freshly formated FAT32 SD Card.

WinCE Upgrade & 3.010100 update:

1. Insert SD card into AVIC and turn it on.

2. When the pioneer logo comes up, press and hold the menu, map, eject and the reset buttons at the same time.

When your screen goes completely blank, let go of the reset button but continue to hold menu, map, and eject buttons.

This will bring you to a blue screen, telling you to reset the unit (ignore this), you will have to enter the service combination.

Press the volume knob in this sequence and you will see * signs for each. F90BT: push: Up, Up, Down, Menu, Left, Right.

3. Select Wince Upgrade

4. Select Update SD Format (This will clean your flash memory. Thats why you made a Back Up copy.)

5. Wait until it says restart in the bottom center. Reset the unit and leave the SD card in.

6. You should be greeted with testmode (It will look very similar to normal windows). Open My Device and copy the contents of the "Storage Card/SD Card" to the root of "My Flash Disk" that is located on the unit. Overwrite everything. (It will the copying will take 140min but will only take about 20)

7. Press and hold reset for 5 seconds.

8. Select your language and voice options.

9. Enjoy FX3.3.010100

Avic X910 with update 3.010100.rar

I get the message "Update failed" in red, bottom center. Haven't been able to get into testmode since the last tweak which applied 3.1, 2009.6 maps, nav warning screen disable. Any ideas to get around this?

UPDATE: Used another card and was able to complete Update SD Format. Upon rebooting into the language selection, I get an error screen reading Fatal Error... and it gets stuck in a bootloop. Trying to track down the culprit.

Just installed it on my F900bt. Didn't work properly cause I forgot to add maps, but thanks to the great instructions on this site, it is fixed! So far it looks really good, cheers!

i added direct download for the files so you dont have to worry about any seeder on the file.

the wince files are located in the PLT folder.

Sorry im new to all this. Basically just download the two update files that are two hundred something megabites a peice us maps, and system, load it into the S drive and plug into the front of the unit and follow the instructions on this post?. Are the mods at the top actually added onto the file or do i add them myself? I have the f90bt and any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the mods are added already to the Base X910Backup with 3.010100 Update download. You only have to add the DEM & Map's you want. I have this update running on my F90BT. From what i understand from reading the avic411 the F & X series are all same base OS. Just make sure you make a copy of your unit before you start playing with it. Also if you want an up to date version CLICK HERE FOR 3.1

I've loaded a FX3.1, even munged around with Abbs' 4.0; but I'm still learning some of the terminology here.

So, here's the stupid question for the thread... Does this work on a F700 as well, or only the 900/90's?

It always seems to me that they are the same firmware, just loads drivers for the DVD drive and MSN tuner on the 900/90BT.

Trying to do this on my F700. I made it through all of the steps no problem, but am running into a problem with the maps. Could someone clarify where the maps are supposed to go? I found them under the APL2 contents folder that has MAPS and POI. Do I need to download each of the 50 states and put them in this folder? Then where do the DEM map files go?

I am hoping the reason my system shows the "please wait system starting" message is because I do not have the right maps... Would this make sense?

Okay, so I have an Avic X910bt and it recently got stuck in a restart loop. With the forum help, I backed up my Avic and now when I get to step 4, I get a message that states "Cant find WINCEIMG.CKS file!" and the Avic get stuck there. Whats going on?

Any solutions please?

I managed to get passed that by finding the file in one of the folders and putting it into the root of my SD. Now Im stuck at step 5 where the bottom of the screen reads "Read progress 100%" and its been like that for over an hour now!...

any solutions?

I used the x3 download from tpb and i enter testmode but icant use the whole screen.....i can pick my device and any folder and drag and select the files but i cant use the menu bar to select copy or anything,i also cant use start menu its like my screen is to small and i need to be able to touch higher and cant...please help driving in silence sux

same thing happened to me... I'm on this firmware, and entered test mode to do some more mods... my start menu works fine but not the top task bar...

i forget what program i opened, but you can't do it through explorer... can't remember what its called but it brought me to a split screen where i was able to choose my SD folder, and the target folder to copy into... there are icons in the program to copy, move, delete, etc once you highlight what you want to copy

Uh... the Ohio map location doesnt exist, and I live in Ohio. any ideas?
