Nice work Condi.. I think I will try to install tonight after work.

Question, does the "enter hackmode" prompt at startup automatically timeout (i.e., default to NO) after some time?

Condi,

I noticed it did not install on my unit, but that was because I used USB stick instead of SD card.

Maybe you can put in alternate script for USB users, so they can use that version. Unfortunately until we can figure out how compare/exist or any basic conditional logic works in this script language, it would have to be a pre-requisite manual step (for the user to choose to use USB version of ScriptExec.ini)

Hi Guys:

I did the Condi hack 2.0 and did not have any problems. Then I installed the Hack 2.1 and while I can get into the Condi Hack the HU locked up when I exit Condi Hack.. It just hangs at the start up. Unfortunately I did not make a backup because I could not find the user file/folder.

Can anyone help me for the next step?

Thanks all,

Jimbo

Condi,

I wonder if there is a problem with the autoinstaller script. What I mean is, if somebody installs two times, what happens to the original AV.EXE.

First time, av.exe (real) is backed up to av1.exe. Av.exe is replaced w/ mortscript exe.

Then what happens if somebody tries to do a second install? Will it overwrite av1.exe (real) with mortscript (av.exe)?

Unfortunately, I dont know how to do any checks/tests yet from this scripting mode. One possible workaround is to always attempt to copy av1.exe to av.exe first. If it's a new install, that should fail - av1.exe should not exist, and av.exe should be real. If av1.exe is real, and av.exe is mortscript, then it should restore av.exe, just so you can proceed with original way and be sure you are copying the real av.exe. (This would need to be tested to make sure if av1.exe does not exist, a copy would not touch av.exe)

thats right, its because hackmode now uses the 'older prg' for hackmode,

and the 'newer/updated prg' for stock software.

now you have hackmode on prg0 and prg1 ;)

what fw version you had? which device? you can fix it by entering hackmode,

file manager, delete av.exe on NAND/PRG0/Apl/Av.exe and write there some original ~3mb Av.exe.

I need to make some additional checks before install ;)

If you would have problems to replace Av.exe,

then I could make an automatic fix for you later ;)

IF YOU HAVE V2.0 ALREADY ON DEVICE,

THEN THERE IS NO NEED TO INSTALL V2.1 :)

Please correct text messages in 2.0 version. Start message has a 1.4 version in label.

If you can make an auto fix for me that would be great. The Unit is a new x940 so I am not sure the fw version I have.

I used to mess around with my F90 so this modding is so much different. Do you have the original av.exe that I can install? Like i said, I did not make a backup file.

Thanks I will will be buying you a beer!

To who need original files from F40:

Check couple of pages before, it was a link to EU update for F40. There you can get all files you need to restore.

Can you give me the link? I did some searching and not sure what I am which one it is.

Edit:

I fixed the problem by replacing the av.exe from the f40 firmware! Thanks to Condi and Ralpharn!!!!!

This is cool!

Condi, for some reason doesnt work for me via usb (havent tried sd yet).

I get following error after reboot during install:

Couldnt copy \sdmmc\condihack\prgx.flg to \nand\prg.flg'

Line 64 \usb\condihack\install2.mscr.

after rebooting manually, it goes into regular mode, even w/ usb key inserted

Condi, maybe for ToDo List:

*Make install XBMC or some similar Software to Play Mkv and Iso image into Radio from HDD USB.

Thanks

Thanks condi, i tried 2.21 from usb but somethin is still wrong.

It seemed to install ok from usb, but after reboot, avic said program invalid or something.

Seems that it was trying to boot to PRG1, which is the old version (3.x) of software (which wont boot for whatever reason on my upgraded x930bt).

I had to go into testmode to remove PRG.FLG to get it to boot back into PRG0 (4.001) which works fine.

I have a z120 updated to z130.

I tried installing Hackmode using the V2.0 script. This caused a red-screen error. After re-starting the unit would not boot. (It gave a "no applicable program" error.) I attempted to install using the V2.2 script which was successful and I can now boot to Hackmode. The unit still does not boot to normal mode, though. (It hangs at the splash screen.) Both PRG0 and PRG1 directories appear to be identicle.

My big problem is that I have misplaced / deleted / overwrote my back up. I don't know how, but it's gone. I do have all the upgrade files available, but those do not include "av.mscr" which is one file that appears to have been updated. What does that file contain?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mickey,

You most likely have killed AV.EXE. Search this topic for couple of pages backwards for European update for F40 unit and download it. Inside this archive you will find that AV.exe file (new version). Rename av.exe to av1.exe and replace av1.exe on your device you will have it up and running again.

because you have a z120 updated to z130, I would suggest to replace one in PRG1. But it would be no harm to replace both.

This did not fix the unit. I can still enter hackmode, but can not get past splash screen in normal mode.

Any other suggestions?

Then... try this topic. There I have backup from my X930BT. I think you need only USER folder.

Awesome! Thank you!! I used testmode to replace PRG0 & PRG1 with your backup and the unit is living again!

Hi mate,

I should work with any region units.

i put in the latest version with autoload and now im getting a no applicable program error upon booting the unit....im able to get into test mode...please help...its a z120bt with a z130bt update

Posted Oct 07, 2012 · 02:17 UTC#800

yes i think there is a problem with the way PRG.FLG is handled, so you wind up trying to boot up to the old version of the program, which might get "no applicable program" if it's an older version and the unit doesnt like that

1. boot into testmode

2. if you have USER\PRG.FLG present delete it. If not, create an empty file called PRG.FLG and copy it to USER\PRG.FLG

3. reboot and let us know how that works
