I never seen a unit not turn on, at the very least it should take you to the pioneer screen.  If it won't turn on it is a hardware issue.  Maybe you should check your 12 V power and ground wires?  Did you do anything besides what was instructed in the service menu?

EnoHand, go to the hobdrive website and in the forums there are very good instructions on how to load teh correct drivers.  I don't recall what I did for the com port, I believe you can modify the reg. to set it up. By default it takes the lowest numbered available port, if I remember correctly.  Port splitter is only for the gps port so multiple programs can access the gps simultaneously. 

How are you editing the base OS?  I never played with that, but it would sure make things better with the base OS modded.  Please share with us any progress you make; our avic f series are now dinosaurs and there does not seem to be any development anymore... 

hi guys, i installed different mods and now avicnet 2.1, but every single time my f900bt is only displaying system starting up, please wait and then after a while is just reboots. it does that all the time. i believe its a map problem? but i tried so many maps (new ones, old ones) still no result =(

So if anyone here can help me resolve this issue, i would be thankfull.

btw i didnt back up myflashdisk so i didnt try my maps i used before (i know, stupid but hey we all make mistakes =)

Please upload the files.  How do you find 7ways and navigon 7.4.3?  I tried to run Sygic 12.1.0 but AVIC's old winCE doesn't meet the prerequisites.  Too bad, Sygic runs so smooth on Android.  My favorite is still Primo, even on Android.  I just wish they had live traffic and whatnot where I live.  Anyways, thanks in advance for sharing.

Navigon is working as well as the Igo 8.3. Sometimes it takes longer to start but without crashing or any other issues. It has the Lane detection and the red light warnings. I was very happy with it until I got my Avic F20BT

Sygic is a standard GPS and I used it only once or twice (Looks like TomTom). And 7Ways was installed last month but I had no time to test it as well. It has 3d and all the other stuff.

To download Sygic (Version 12 for WinCe) take this one here  and put to the folder APL4 on the root of your SD-CARD. You have to change the settings for your GPS to Port 6 or 7 depends on your device, mine was Port 6.

Hope this will work for you. Please notice that Navigon is compatible with the Q1/2013 maps and Pois (You must use the Maps abd NFS files from the same version), its recommended to use them, these maps have quick TMC, TMC Pro and support Citiview-3D.

For Sygic, you can also download the latest maps and use them.

So to use Navigon, you put it on APL4 folder and copy it to the Flash Disk and then change the GPS port, right?

You need to download both files, but as in my description. The APL4 on (MY FLASH DISK) and the other one to the root of your SD-CARD. Depends on if you need to change the settings for your GPS or not, mine was changed and you got my settings in this download. I don't know if the GPS will work directly or you have to change it manually.

Anyone got the TTS voice for Primo 2.0?  The link on the first page doesn't work.  Otherwise, the upgrade has been great so far!  It is a like a brand new system to me.

It will only work on the following:  f500bt, f700bt, f900bt, f90bt, x710bt and x910bt.

first I want to thank you for giving your time and effort in to these pioneers.

I just used it on my F910BT EU and it works and looks much better.

Now I do have something I do not understand and that is this:

You say maps and primo can run from the usb or sd.

is it that you take the maps from the my flash and put the primo and primo3 on root and inside them you copy the maps and all is done?

and I guess they cannot share the maps on sd or usb?

And also the comment out the lines, do you have to do that once you transfer them to usb or sd and if yes can you show me what or how you mean it.

i do understand you must keep the maps primo and primo3 in the my flash and have the run files in them.

Maybe you can also tell me which maps I should look for, I got "igo primo R3 teleatlas or must I look for Navteq maps and then 8.3?

Hi Scoupevo,

To run off usb or sd copy the Primo3 folder to the root of the sd/usb.  In the sd or usb's sys.txt (in the primo3 folder you copied), under [folders] comment out or delete maps, buildings, dem, and poi.  You can then put all your maps in the content folder in the Primo3 folder on the sd/usb.  When you launch Primo it will first check your USB and SD before the flash disk, so you don't need to delete the Primo3 on My Flash Disk.  If you decide you want to delete Primo from My Flash Disk, make sure you leave the primo3/run folder intact as it contains the files required to launch Primo.  I hope this clears things up for you. 

The latest teleatlas (tomtom) or navteq maps will work; for Europe I believe 2013 Q2 is the newest at this point.  GPS Underground and Noeman are both good sites to find the latest maps.  Good luck!

I was already trying myself and figured it out before you could react, but because its not really clear if you must remover those line on de SD/USB or my flash disk I was confused. but as of now everything except the primo run folder can be removed from my flash disk.

In the meantime I also stumbled upon the trouble with the BT and TMC and combined all the files, so far so good I think.. 

The maps I have running now too, I tried before but could be I had them in the wrong map or maybe it was the license.

Uhm today when I started it was doing the initializing again, twice.. is this the cause of the booting.. power drop.. booting again?

If so, with stock I didnt had this problem other from that it just rebooted again.

I will keep an eye out on that and come back again, hope it wont do that all the time at least

To get TMC and BT to work you have to make a few changes.  Look back a few pages in this thread at post 517; matyana discovered a solution and posted it for us.

The unit will reboot twice upon initialization due to the following:  after a hard reset, the first time you are booting after being in testmode, and also if the power is cut off while it is in a certain stage of booting.  It shouldn't happen every time, if it is some users have found that their vehicle voltage drops too low upon starting the car.
