Has anyone been running the non beta appex. Is it stable I used the beta and crashed my email. Also is it still ios5 only.

Mike on another note I am working on getting the API. Not sure if it will cost me. But willing to pay if you think it will be helpful to you. I have my develop lic but hardly ever use it. Pioneer has got back to me about the API I just have to call and find out. I'm working on a app for personal use and wanting to use it for the radio. If it would be helpful I can see what I can do.

Which beta were you running? I fixed a bunch off issues that caused conflicts with the mail app.

It's still iOS5 only. Working on the iOS6 update.

Hey Mike,

I'm having a weird issue with my system and I'm not sure what to do. I have the AVH-P8400BH. I had a iPhone 4 running 5.1.1 and the extensions seemed to be working perfectly. But the iPhone 4 was very slow (all functionality, not just AppRadio), and I REALLY wanted Siri so I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4S. My new iPhone 4S is also on 5.1.1 Before I jailbroke the 4S, I tested AppRadio and it seemed to be running correctly. I then jailbroke the device, installed SBSettings, AppRadio Extensions from Cydia (latest version as if this writing) and a few other tweaks. Now, every time I go into Advanced App Mode and start up the AppRadio app, the radio screen stays blank and the AppRadio app stays at the initial connect screen. I did some searching in this forum and learned how to delete AppExt settings and re-install which I did several times without success.

In a nutshell, the AppRadio app only seems to work when I've disabled Mobile Substrate which I'm assuming means that AppExt is basically disabled. Also, it appears that the AppRadioExtensions folder is deleted whenever I delete AppExt. Is that how it's supposed to work? Do you have any ideas what else I can try short of restoring the iPhone. I don't have the 5.1.1 SHSH blob saved for this 4S so, from my understanding, there's no way to restore the iPhone to factory 5.1.1 and start again.

You shouldn't have to restore. Can you try leaving MobileSubstrate enabled and disable some other tweak one at a time to confirm it's a problem with AppEx? You can do this with SBSettings.

I have everything running fine on my iPhone 4S 5.1.1, but I do notice sometimes that the radio doesn't acknowledge the phone. I either have to reboot the phone or the radio to get it working again. Not sure what the source of the problem is though.

I too had this the other day, the radio wasn't acknowledging the phone. Tried everything and eventually had to reset the Appradio.

Seems like its intermittent as its happened twice now.

Mike, thanks for the suggestion. It appears that another tweak called NoAccSplash was conflicting with the AppRadio app and had nothing to do with your AppExt tweak.

Thanks again for all your work and help through this forum.

Pioneer AVH-8400 has advanced app mode but you need the correct cable and with that the app radio app and appex works with it same as the two dedicated units.

Hey all. I have AppRadio2 and iOS 6. So I'm stuck without extensions. Should I see about getting back to 5.1.1, or would I be better off just sitting tight until AppEx is updated for 6?

Thanks for any advice

The iOS 6 update isn't looking too good. Apple changed a lot in regards to multitasking so I can't use the same methods keep the AppRadio app open in the background to capture touch events from the radio. I need to look for another way to do this.

I'll keep everyone posted. Still actively working on it.

Anyone tried AppEx 2.0 with iPad (1 gen)?

Here is the result i got when tried to use it: https://www.dropbox....4x/CAM00021.jpg

Mike, any info on how to fix this?

This exact same thing happened to me when I was testing my jailbroken iPad 2 before I got a jailbroken iPhone 4S. Now that I only use the 4S, I don't care anymore... But yes, I had the same issue.

AppEx was coded for the iPhone screen size. Never added support for the iPad.

Mike,

Any chance of making AppExt open source so that others can help out?

Yes, that's a good idea. I'll start working on it tonight. Need to clean some things up and organize a bit.

Hey Mike,

did you make any progress on scroll and drag Touchevents ? Btw you once again made an awsome update with the 2.0 release at cydia. Stuff is running much smoother now on my Iphone.

Thx alot Mike, keep up the good work.

Hey Mike

Just wanted to thank you for all your hard work!! You are the man!!

Just one quick question I have latest firmware on appradio, latest appradio app, and latest 2.0 offical appradio ext from cydia. My question is .What kind of parking brake method are you running or do you suggest running ? I know some people say the relay and TR7 method is not working with the latest pioneer firmware update.

No plans. I don't have an iPad to test with.

Not yet. I'm focusing on iOS 6 at the moment. It's still on the list though.

I use a manual toggle switch. It's firmware update proof.

pioneer 8450 used for this application.

Posted Oct 30, 2012 · 19:21 UTC#600

Let me start for saying thanks to mikedecaro for all the hard work he has put into this App. Without you I would of probably ripped out the unit by now and sold it or threw it in the bin.

Ok I have a couple of issues that I hope you can clear up.

1. First one is boot time on my App Radio 2. It seems like my boot time is very long compared to your video you posted on the first page. Please watch video below to see what I mean.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2a6DK28qaw&feature=youtu.be

2. Landscape lock not normalizing after phone detached from dock. Once I've finished using the dock it seems like the screen lock stays on landscape even thou I've locked it to portrait.

3. TomTom directions voice not turning off. For some reason when I use TomTom UK I can't seem to turn off the directions voice ...even thou the voice is muted , I still here directions via voice.

4. One thing missing which I would absolutely love is controlling the tracks via steering wheel button. Do you have any plans to employment this function ?
