I use the supplied cable that comes with the DA100 that has the USB and iPhone 30 pin connector. Now i have the Apple Lighting HDMI adapter and i connect the HDMI from that in to the back of the head unit. I connect the Lighting cable from the adapter to the USB on the original cable for charging. All works very well.

I've got an 8500 too with an iPhone 4S. So nice to be able to use Navigon again without it crashing after a few seconds. Beta 11 fixed that issue for me. Haven't tested everything yet, but it's not crashing now like it was. Thanks for all the work. I know it's not much, but you should find an extra $20 in your PayPal account Mike.

Just realised that i was running the beta before the latest. I am now update.
However i don't know if this has ever worked. I tried to arrange the icons and also put 3 icons down on the quick launch but on switching off the stereo and switching back on the icons are not saved. Has this always been the case?

only thing off a bit is the screen calibration. but a working touchscreen is a HUGE step forward
yeah screen calibration is a bit off. would be good if there was a way to adjust the sensitivity of the touch screen. sometimes seems hard to get the screen to pick up that you have touched it.
mike is there anyway to get a clock in the car media player app?
I would love to have the clock in a bunch of apps, but coding for each one specifically (location, color, etc) would be difficult. I'll have to think of something.

Just tested (iPhone 4, iOS 6.1.3, AVH-P8480BT), and the 30s crash is in fact gone
However, touching the side black bars exits the app but doesn't load AppRadio back, I have to call it manually on the iPhone screen every single time.
And I'll back mams on the slowness issue, on all unsupported apps. Even Google Maps run painfully slow. Heavier apps, like TomTom or Sygic, are virtually unusable, lagging 2-5+ sec between a touch and a response, and updating the screen at 1 frame every 3 sec or even more.
Anyway, thanks for your huge efforts on trying to free us all

tested latest update from Cydia. unfortunately appradio is still crashing for me. i was able to play angry birds for a few minutes fine.
when i played a video, and left it running without touching screen, the appradio app would crash and id lose touch capability. after about 20 seconds not 30.
tried rebooting several times but same behavior. i did notice some apps correctly going to landscape now when they didnt before.

Please make sure you don't have anything else that might be messing up your apex, I have an iPhone 4 and although I experience what you say it not all the time and it doesn't happened with every app, apps like music and video or mail or messages work great when clicking on the black bars it loads appradio app again, when using other applications like cydia and some that are not originally supported by appradio that's when I experience the problem of taping on the black bars and appradio app doesn't launch. On the same note when I open appradio and I get the welcome Adrian's iPhone screen on the unit after it loads and I select an app like music and then tap on the black side bar to go back to the appradio home that shows my apps on the unit, it dosent go back to where it was before but instead it loads again the whole thing with the welcome Adrian's iPhone screen again, this takes also a long time and makes it hard to switch applications, what I've been doing is I've been pressing the home button and this allowed me to see the iPhone screen and then I can launch another app from there, hopefully we can get all this fix on the next beta,

Thanks for your input. However, I can't see what could possibly mess with AppEx, as it's the only thing I have installed from Cydia, other than iBlacklist app.
Pressing the home button once on my 8480 (8400), has no effect at all. That's the behavior on all units that have AppRadio Mode, afaik.
Did some more extensive tests a while ago, and found that the black screen issue while tapping black bars is aleatory. Some apps, like Sygic and TomTom, do it more often, but some times the bars work as intended.
Another thing that I noticed, is that Google Maps and MotionX almost always crash to springboard, but leaving full touch control active.
After all, I think that solving the iPhone 4 slowness issue is much more important than these weird app behavior, that can be addressed later
The calibration of touch is quite off i am finding more and more. sometimes its taking two or three finger presses to get it to do something.
I gonna ask a dumb question here - the important note says only compatible with v1.8 of appradio. I can't find that version. Only 2.2.0 is showing.
Also, it shows that this is compatible with avic-z150. Pretty positive I'm not doing something right here. I still see all the standard apps and have no way to choose or add additional ones.. pretty lost here as you can see

The latest version available in the AppStore.
There is an option in the Settings app to select which apps are displayed.
Wait - I think I understand now. You mean the settings in the settings app for the phone.
Just found that now. I was thinking that I should be seeing that under the settings button inside the app radio app. But it's not. It's inside the settings app for the phone.
