Hi Everyone,

It's been a while now,

I remember that I ordered the drive from Garett couple of years ago, I believe it is unlocked, correct?

I will be downloading & seeding the torrents for those who are still interested, note: I just came here to get the update, after the download is completed, I'll continue to seed. :)

The torrent file from post #67 is for the 2012 US-CAN maps? is this correct?

Yes, the drive is unlocked.

Thanks Garrett,

One more question: I can use a external USB adapter that connects the hard drive to the PC, right? (similar to an external USB hard drive) then use Acronis program to restore the images?

Thanks!

What's up fellas', i have crowed out from under a rock after a few years, I still love my AVIC z2!! with my unlocked drive. I have breezed thru this thread for updating my map to 2012 and got a lot of good intel. However, I didn't find a torrent and burned it using POWER ISO onto a Memorex DVD-Rdl Disk. But the head unit cant read the disk. I'm did I miss something?

Any pointers would be great and thanks in advance. The torrent name was CNDV_110MTUC1_A 7.32GB ISO

or should i just pull out my unlocked drive and image the iso onto it. via PC

NEXUS!MIAMI

PS: if i can get a good iso, i will seed it on my ultra fast net.

I am not familiar with that torrent name. Rescan this thread to find the correct torrent. The installation will require you to connect your hard drive to your PC. The instructions are in the torrent. You must use Acronis backup software to restore.

Can't get the Acronis to work on my PC :(

Posted Sep 20, 2013 · 12:25 UTC#209

Did you try XP mode?

Posted Sep 20, 2013 · 13:28 UTC#210

Did you try XP mode?

Yes I did with admin rights.  I can see my AVIC hard drive on my pc with all the partition. The torrent i got from here had a pdf instruction and a bunch of labels 2012, 2011,2011 and so one, I spent the night reading threads giving better details how to install , when I open the first partition of the avic drive, is has a bunch of folders in two digit numbers, file structure looks nothing like the PDF.  I get LDATA SDATA MSV and USER. I tried using the boot cd but that was a bit complicated, didn't know what file to restore so i wouldn't mess up the drive or what partition to apply it to....

Any link how to go about this?  or by using the boot disk, do i i just recover a 2012 file and it will work it self out?   I thinking of using an CO XP OC==PC at work and try over.

But that you all for your kind feed back,   I bought the new Avic and returned it for my z2,   LOL

There are detailed instructions included in the torrent. See the PDF instructions. You will restore whole partitions from the Acronis backup file and not individual files on the avic hard drive.

Thank You all, I took a chance with the boot disk and like rar works, i chose the restore file that ended in 20120 hoping it worked like rar causing it to open the other rar files ie.. xxx.0rar then xx1.rar and so on. ''

IT WORKED THANKS AGAIN, I CAN ALWAYS TRUST ON AVIC411.    I was just a bit confused about the partition part. but like ghost32 its just a mirror image.

Be well Gents!!! From Miami FL

yea it did, but the pictures using the program within windows gui that look nothing like the boot disk gui. so it was a bit perplexing at first.

Ok so... I have Downloaded Z3 2012 CNDV-1100HD HDD IMAGE. I have also Downloaded the Pioneer Service Disk but... It says Unreadable. I have burned it several times using different methods.  So I was going to try the method mentioned on this thread. But.. Don't laugh or flame where is the 2 screws to remove the HD? I have not actually removed the radio yet but thought I would ask so I would know going in.

See if your avic will play any other discs to confirm your DVD player is not dead. Open the screen like you are going to change discs and you will see the HDD cover and 2 screws (torx t8)

Well Crap. Don't laugh but... It would help if I had a z3 lol. Just realized I have a z140bh. I have had so many freaking radios I forget what I got!

Hi new to this Site but can someone PLEASE seed the unlock and 2012 maps image

Posted Oct 16, 2013 · 00:58 UTC#219

I have an old drive from my laptop and was wondering if I could just use it after changing the input pins with the second old drive from a Z1. I Have a Z2. if so I wouldn't need to unlock the drive

Posted Oct 16, 2013 · 01:16 UTC#220

please seed :)

During the restore, Aconris stopped the restore reporting a corrupt file. Now the Map partiton is missing from the HDD. What can I do now? I'm lost.

Posted Oct 31, 2013 · 11:06 UTC#222

Use Acronis to "verify" the backup file. If it fails, then download again.

Posted Oct 31, 2013 · 22:04 UTC#223

Download is corrupt. Please seed so I can download it again. Thanks.

Got a good download and restore. Thanks for all the help, especially those of you who seeded so I didn't have to stress about it too long.
