I thought you just have to touch the white and red direction indicator to switch to always North, but I just tried and it doesn't change.
Thanks Ron for the reply...."do to limited data guidance can not be provided in your area" is still proving to be a problem, ive tried diconecting the battery over night but it did not reset the avic z130bt like a wrote in a previous post the map shows up with the route highlited but there are no diretions....no arrows with voice. Thanks for your support.

Are you saying that disconnecting the battery did not reset the unit??? Or that the reset didn't fix your problem??? By reset, I mean that it will go through the initial setup prompts - like language.
Just one other thing to be clear. Are you in the US/Can and running the US/Ca version of the CNSD-310FM? You might of installed the one for the wrong region. That would explain the lack of map detail. I just remembered that on my boat's GPS (where you have to buy detailed maps for your area) there is a world-wide coarse detail map built-in to the unit. It's useless for navigation but it will show you roughly where you are in the world.
I disconected the battery and the unit did not reset, it kept all values and setting this after leaving the battery disconnected over night
And yes it is the can/ us maps and all street are displayed.... It even routes it but does not give the directions... When i say direction i mean the arrow or voice direction state limited data...

Then you didn't disconnect the battery - maybe you just pulled a fuse? The AVIC get's power from 2 circuits. I mean go into the engine compartment and get a wrench - remove the negative terminal from the battery post - for a minute or more. There's another way to do this, but this is a sure way to do it. It might be difficult to find the fuse for the yellow wire.
Thanks for your reply. I literally removed the battery from the car so there was not mistake battery was disconected.
Well, there is a factory reset in the Settings menus somewhere. You could try that. Were you able to set the voice to Samatha English US TTS?
OK. So everything else works (radio/ipod/calling/Bluetooth/etc). You can enter a destination. It asks to confirm the route..you hit OK....the maps show where you are as you move, but you get no turn-by-turn instructions either on-screen or voice?
Am I correct in assuming that you had this Z130 installed and NAV was working before loading the CNSD-310FM upgrade?
Yes had the latest firmware and all function work fine before the update .i did the reset found in the units sofware setting but no better results there is voice but the voice says due to limited data guidance cannot be provide in this area. But like i said the route is marked properly on the map and if i go to rout overview and profile the directions are correct... It like there is missing voice instructions
I though you just have to touch the white and red direction indicator to switch to always North, but I just tried and it doesn't change.
So is anyone else able to make the map show north and south all the time
I just updated mine with no issues.
Did this today on my 920 and worked great.
I have an AVIC-Z140bh and I tried the picture step by step and the method listed in first step and none of them works. I put the memory card in and it simply does not pick it up.
When I check my bluetooth version it says I have the current version but my device version is 4.000 not 4.100
Just did this on my z130bt and it worked perfectly. I followed the instructions in post #1. Thanks to Pionara and everyone else's input on this forum.

Here's a link to the CNSD-310FM product description. Maybe you can see what's wrong. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Accessories/Map-Upgrades/NAVTEQ+2012+Map+Upgrade+for+AVIC-Z130BT+and+AVIC-X930BT
Hi, it's sunday and would like to do the update, but theres no one sharing the SEED,

I have Z140bh is there a possibility that I already have 2012 maps ? but if I do then why is my device version is 4.0 not 4.1 and bluetooth version is same as the one in this post ?
Just picked up a new Z130Bt and followed the directions in the 1st post and worked perfectly. Thanks
The best thing about this update is that it was free thanks to you all! I would have been really annoyed if I had paid for it. Just downgraded back to the old version. The direction and mapping of the new navigation is horrible. The navigation has yet to guide me to where I need to be, it's like crApple maps after the 6.x ios update! Maybe the same programmers? Here's all the stuff I found wrong so far...
- It moved my house across the street.
- It tell me I've arrived at my destination at some intersection miles from my entered destination.
- It tells me to "exit the highway in one half mile" AFTER I've already passed the exit.
- It repeatedly tells me to "make illegal u-turn when possible".
- Android compatibilty is not compatible with most Android phones. This is even per the list Pioneer provided!
- iPhone 4/4s compatibility is broken.
- No video player capabilities with iPhone. You get audio with no video.
- Loss of voice commands to enter navigational inputs.
Noticable improvements include...
- PIOs are sorted by distance making it easier to locate.
I downgraded back to 3.01 this week and all the issues have been resolved except android compatibility. I'm back to using my iphone 4 which works flawlessly, even video player. Hopefully the 2013 update will be better.
Where did you find the download to return to version 3.01. Is it as simple to go back to that version as it was to update to the z140 version?
Ok, I did everything in the instructions for my X920BT and when it hits 99% i get incorrect SD card error. This happened twice then I switched to another sd card that I used for the previous update to to 3.0 and I got the same error again at 99%. I'm at a loss for what to do. Now my radio is stuck in the update mode.
Please help
Kevin

My update worked great. I haven't experienced anything you mentionned, including the pairing of my Android phone (X930BT with Galaxy S2X)

Are you sure your download was successful? Even if you copy the files on 20 different SD cards, they will all fail if the download itself wasn't good.
I just did this update by following the instructions in post #1. I have an X9310BT with the traffic adapter installed and the mute cable mod in place and the update went nice and smooth. Controlling Pandora over bluetooth works great with my Galaxy Nexus using the CM10 ROM. I have yet to drive around and test the Nav functions or POIs but I am sure they will also work smoothly. I'll update here if they don't!
Thanks to Pionara's hard work and great instructions!
