I did unzip all the files to a temporary folder.  However, there are no folders in zip file but there is a file named CARDINFO.cif another named updater.plf but i don't see a file or folder named FIRMWARE?  I downloaded the file twice just in case the first download was missing files.

Where are you getting the upgrade from and what is the file size (of  the zip file)?

Also are you using a MAC or a PC? What program are you using to unzip?

Downloaded form anir22 above, the zip file is 2.23GB.  I am using a pc, unziped with WINZIP.

Sorry, I never use torrents. Don't trust em. Even using that link I ended up with some malware that a MalwareBytes scan detected and deleted.

I'm also a little rusty with  WINZIP. Does it have an option to extract subdirectories? I know one of the popular zip/unzip programs does.

I am using WINZIP Pro and it was extracting all the files out of the folders.  I changed to classic view in WINZIP and it extractid all files and left them in the proper folders.  30min to update my X930BT.

Having a heck of a time getting this working in my BRZ with the factory X9310BT.  Detects the card just fine, but I never get the upgrade message.  Formatted on a PC (native OS as well as SDformatter), as well as tried on a Mac.  Extracted with winrar, 7zip, and Thearchiver (mac).  This 4GB card was previously used successfully to replace the startup screen, so it reads fine.  All I get when inserting is the page that shows screensaver options/etc.  What could I be missing?

Bah.  Nevermind.  Didn't realize that the US BRZs aren't Pioneer - it's a Fujitsu Ten.  Crap.

just did this update on my z130bt worked like a charm... thanks to everyone for posting this up..

I just did this update tonight and worked without any issues, many thanks all for your help!  One question - what are the Mecha and CAN versions referring to?  My Mecha version is the same, and the CAN version changed from having values to --------- instead.  Is this indicative of an issue?

I believe u can go from 110 to this.

Has anyone tried updating the z150 to the 2013 maps from here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-Z150BH ?  doesn't say it's applicable to the z150, so does that mean the z150 already has the 2013 map?

so, I managed to find this AFTER I updated with the hack to 2011. I thought I saw it in here somewhere, but now I cant find it. will this work as is on the hacked 2011 install? where I used PASSWORDPASSWORD to do the update?

I put the 3 files on the SD card (after updating the VERINFO.DAT) and the Z110 doesn't do anything after inserting the SD card

From what source?  If you're talking about the 2012 US/Canada maps, it should be 228 files (5.61gb).  Well, at least, that's what I have.

I was talking about the entire .rar downloaded from the torrent. At this point, I'll take any files that work.

I followed the instructions to a tee. I then discovered I have a x9310bt instead of a x930bt. I made it to %51, then the update asked for the SD card. I was stuck at the screen asking for a SD card, so I deleted the file mentioned in #20. This got my radio working but nothing else. At least I had a radio for the ride home. I extracted all the files again and tried it all from the beginning. The radio will not go into update mode now. Does someone have a copy of StartKnd.log?

#20: I think you can kick the unit out of upgrade mode by deleting \USER\SYSTEM\Download\StartKnd.log

(a value of 0 in this file means start normally. 1 means upgrade, and there is 2 and 3 - not sure what those do.) I believe if this file is missing or zero inside, it will try to start normally.
