after seeing in your sig the Avox Video Jukebox, i picked one up on newegg to use on my d2. let me just say this thing is awesome.

so whether you knew or not, you influenced me to get this thing

And to think, way back in high school, I was always told I was a bad influence on people! LOL Thanks for the props.

I love the thing also. I have hundreds of music videos, thousands of mp3's and still going! LOL Where do you have it placed? do you have it hidden anywhere? I have mine in my glovebox, and purchased the infrared extender and wired it behind the dash, and it pops out right under the radio by the climate controls. hardly noticeable!

where can u get the IR extender at? would any IR blaster work? I might have to take a ride to radio shack tonight.

mine is in my arm rest. theres a cig lighter in there for power, and ran the video cable up thru the molding to the screen.. getting an IR extender for that would be nice

Unfortunately no, not any IR extender will work. This is where I bought mine:

On the other boards, people have said that the IR extenders that come with mobile Myron Davis dvd players work also, so if you know an installer, ask if he/she has an extra laying around the shop!

I am thinking I may move to the armrest also. Would be easy since it is just a matter of rerouting the wires.

Didn't have time to pick mine up today. Any empty pins in the white plugged pigtail of wires?

i'll have to consider it.. $27 plus shipping is kinda pricey for that.. thanks for the heads up tho

If I get my hands on a copy, I will make copies for all "senior staff" here and send 'em out.

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 02:12 UTC#33

How old you have to be to be considered a senior? I'm 31 :-) I wonder if this'll work w d1/d2.

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 02:13 UTC#34

haha. I think he meants people with a lot of posts. I hope I make the senior members cut.

why wat r u thinking?

and underneath the white pioneer sticker at the bottom of the D3 there is 2 groves that you can feel but there is nothing under there

and don't bother looking at the top 2 stickers you cant even feel any groves under the serial number or the warning sticker

I was thinking maybe its similar to the Z1 bypass where you take an extra pin, stick it in one of those open holes and ground that extra wire and the parking brake wire. Will test it out friday or this weekend if nobody beats me to it

why wat r u thinking?

I've decided to take a half day off work today to get window tinting and an oil change, as well as a full day tomorrow. I might install my D3 today depending on the weather and also how much time it takes to run my errands. If I get it in there I will let you know.

Would be fantastic if the bypass was as easy as the D2. :D

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 15:17 UTC#46

so i guess it's still not confirmed if we can bypass this system? :?:

Nope, haven't confirmed it yet.

Question on the D3 for those of you that have it installed. I know it has a single slot, but can you have the NAV dvd loaded and play an AUX device MP3 such as an Ipod or USB device.

I want to be able to at least play music while the NAV DVD is loaded. Is this possible?

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 23:10 UTC#49

OP, absolutely yes you can do that.

Oh, and by the way, i'm installing my d3 tomorrow morning. The harness is wired and ready to go! Can't wait to finally get it done.
