well i went for it for $550 shipped. good price for a brand new unit plus i see alot of people on here were successful and happy with them. also ordered the install kit and wire harness from crutchfield. cant wait to get this in!

Also ordered from Al&Eds.....$544 but I paid extra for three day shipping. Authorized Pioneer retailer!
Just to inquire about Amazon and they've indicated that Amazon is not an authorized dealer and for the following reason. If you look at the list of Online Dealers on the pioneer website, they each indicate what lines of product they are authorized for. Only a handful indicate Car Audio and Navigation, and Amazon isn't one of them.
Not saying you won't get your rebate, but based on this I don't think I'll roll the dice personally.
Just an FYI based on what I was just told at the number printed on the rebate slip.
I actually called the number on the rebate to inquire if my newly purchased AVIC D3 from www.sonicelectronix.com. The very nice woman confirmed with me that no websites are eligable for the rebates. Now I know this is conflicting from the previous statement, but this was confirmed from my conversation.
I got a great deal, but this is just to confirm what was previous stated abou the topic above.
spoke with the rep from sonnix last week, promised the rebate would be honored. somehow I just didnt believe it his price w/rebate was $479. Just didnt feel comfortable, so purchased from Al-Eds for $529.99.

I bought my pioneer d3x (bluetooth, ipod cable, remote) for $780 total including shipping from compuplus.com. I get a $200 rebate from pioneer. It was a risk I took but still cheaper then crotchfield. I think they wanted close to $900 after the $200 rebate.
Well I called Pioneer rebates today and they said my check is in the mail.
Everyone kept saying that compuplus was not a autorized pioneer internet dealer. I guess there were wrong and missed on a great deal.
My total cost after rebate is $589 for the complete d3x package. not bad huh.
Purchased the D3 w/ remote, ipod adapter and bluetooth (basically the D3X) from Electronic Express (electronicexpress.com) for $637, free FedEx shipping. Had to call and Ask for the "Amazon.com" deal since that was the promotion, but going through Amazon couldn't get all parts put in the order. We'll see about the $200 rebate, they said they are an authorized pioneer dealer...not worried too much as it seems like an excellent deal anyway! 
upping this thread, i see them @ circuit city for 599, but online retailers are more ? what gives
Got my $200 rebate two days ago. I also ordered my D3x package from Electronic Express using the Amazon deal before it was posted here for $637 shipped so after rebate $437. Not a bad deal.
So Al&Eds says its no longer available? Who is the most reliable seller out there now for the lowest price? thx
