So after checking Pioneer's website every single day, the new upgrade disc has finally arrived.

Although this is what it's features are:

CNDV-70MTP

Navigation System Upgrade for all-in-one Navigation Systems

Model Year 2007 TeleAtlas Database

Compatible with AVIC-N2, AVIC-D1, AVIC-N1

12 Million Points of Interest

Ungrade discs for Pioneer Navigation Systems. Includes database and feature upgrades equivalent to the AVIC-N3 and AVIC-D2.

Compatible with AVIC-N1, AVIC-N2 and AVIC-D1 only.

New Model Year 2007 TeleAtlas database on 2 DVD Discs featuring nearly 12 million Points of Interest (POI), plus US and Canada coverage (including Alaska and Hawaii).

Can anyone clarify if the disc will work for the AVIC-D2? One sentence says it's only compatible to the N1, N2 and D1 only, but the other sentence says the feature upgrades equivalent to the N3 and the D2.

Looks like they just copied & pasted the CNDV60 description and changed the year. I am sure they will fix it.

We were told it will work on the D1/2 and N1/2/3

nowhere to buy it online from their website yet, and when I put in multiple zip codes across the country to "Find A Retailer" it keeps telling me none found.

Looks like Pioneer was desperate to get the CD out in the market when they've promised the discs to be out earlier this year. Do you guys think it's still worth getting the "2007" upgraded disc, when more than half the year is over with? I guess it would be if the 2008 disc isn't going to be introduced until this time next year.

Ya, the disks always come out mid year

Posted Jun 28, 2007 · 10:01 UTC#6

oh I definitely will get it for myself LOL :) My wife complains about my tech addiction

Well then it's time to bring up an old thread in the Classifieds! Let me know if any one of you guys want to go in on a Navi disc set with me!!

I wonder if these are really out. I emailed them last week and they told me it would be the middle of August. I then went to see what was different from the 60 series to the 70 and now there is a link saying the 70's will be out in auguston the 60's link. It lets you put in your email to be updated when the arrive.

Like I said, I just saw the product on their website. So if I hear anything as well, I’ll post up and please do the same.

Posted Jun 29, 2007 · 01:35 UTC#10

It does look like they fixed the post.

"Compatible with AVIC-N3, AVIC-D2, AVIC-N2 and AVIC-D1, and AVIC-88DVD, AVIC-80DVD, AVIC-90DVD, and AVIC-9DVD, when used with Pioneer Touch Panel Display only."

What I was really hoping for was an ipod interface update. But unfortuntely my b-day wish did not come true. Proably one of the few reasons i would spend the money for a new disk, now im not so sure.

"Note: Does not change the XM Radio or iPod Interfaces."

So is this disk not going to work for the N1?

Posted Jun 29, 2007 · 04:28 UTC#12

The CNDV-70MTP have been printed. There is a limited number of copies for now and they are reserved to be included with new (in box) navi systems this year. We will be able to buy them after Aug. 16, 2007, but they might show up online after Aug. 1, 2007... That is what I was told by Pioneer!

Let us know how it goes when you receive it!

I ordered he disks from the Pioneer web site last night. Requested two day delivery. Under order statue it says "shipping status" awaiting shipment. I don't know if that means they don't have it or they are waiting for the shipping department to ship it. It did say that back orders are rare and that "they try to only list things that they have in stock ready to ship" so I huess we'll see Monday if it ships.

Someone already has asked if it will work with a N1.

My question will it work with a N1 bypassed and a N3 brain?

I guess that question will be answered when the disc is finally released and we have a few people to test it and see what improvements there actually is.

On the site it still quotes that it will work with a Avic-N1

Posted Jul 11, 2007 · 01:25 UTC#19

Mine shipped today.

Paisan: I see you got charged tax too. Did I miss the changing of the law? I thought if you ordered stuff online or from a catalog the company could only charge taxes if they have a business presence in the same state. OR... maybe Pioneer has a presence in both NY and VA.

Does anyone else feel that 250 bucks is exorbitant for map discs? Basically, if you purchase 4 sets of upgrades, you will have paid for a D3.

Posted Jul 11, 2007 · 03:59 UTC#21

I thought they are pretty pricey too. It'd be different if it was good for 3 years, but as fast as they're building in some areas, some major roads won't even be on there now. Let us know how the discs are and if everything in the transaction flows smoothly.

If a retailer sells Pioneer products in your state, then the Pioneer company can charge you sales tax.

Posted Jul 11, 2007 · 12:36 UTC#23

Even if they order from another state? I mean they sell BFG tires in my state (Florida), but when I've ordered them directly from Arizona, I don't get charged tax. Just an example, by the way.

Posted Jul 11, 2007 · 14:45 UTC#24

Pioneer opened up their own home theater store here in Manhattan, New York City, so they do have the obligation to charge sales tax in the state of NY :(

Got my discs. The box says, can be used for the following models:

N1, N2, N3, D1, D2, 88DVD, 80DVD, 90DVD, 9DVD

The later 4 require touch-panel display.
