I apologize to that OTHER FORUM MEMBER for putting his name on the board and starting this whole mess. Hopefully you didn't get swamped with PMs. Your contribution has greatly assisted in verifying that the Z2 bypass would work on a Z1. Thank you!

Ok, so we'll keep the thread going and see if anyone out there has a Z2 image they wish to share with the community!

Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

So, after reading other posts of those trying to buy the upgrade disc from Pioneer it seems they are either a) no longer available, B) available but must be ordered through your local dealer and c) not available through the local dealers because Pioneer has asked them not to order discs for customers. So this forum is now divided into the "haves" and "have nots". Surely there is some fine, upstanding individual that will answer the plight of the "have nots".

Doesn't seem like you're trying to order it  I called pioneer yesterday, they said there would be no problem getting the disc, but that the password generation website might be unavailable for a few days over the next few weeks. Any AUTHORIZED dealer should be able to order it as well, but it doesn't sound like any are stocking it.

I would love to have a copy of the Z2 image. If anyone has it...please email me. Maybe i can make it worth your time.

thanks;

I have called them several times and the best they would give me is to put me on a waiting list.

Here is the phone number:

866-214-1310

Part No.:

CNDV-700HD

They said it won't be available for weeks.

If anybody has one available I would like to purchase it.

Weird, that's who I called too....

I don't think you can buy someone else's, since the media ID will only work in the password generating site once.

Great news!! A member of the forum is making an image of his Z2 to share with us! He wishes to stay anonymous but assured me the image is from his new Z2. In fact, he's in the process of unlocking and imaging the drive right now so it will be stock since he hasn't changed any settings yet.

The Z2 has a June manufaturing date so we can't be sure if it was already bypassed. I'm going to add the files from Hyperite's instructions here:

http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8783

I'll make another image of the drive, then load it on my Z1 to see if everything works and is bypassed.

Once confirmed, we'll have a bypassed Z2 image to share with Z1 owers!

Ok, I have the image and I'm testing it out now. Once bypassed, I'll make a new image and I should have something available tonight.

Is there anyone out there that can help host? I don't use any Bittorrent software and I heard there are free sites that will host. It's a 7.4Gb file or I can break it up using winrar.

I can burn 10 sets on DVD and mail out to people if you want to go that way.
