Nobody uses FTP anymore without the ability to resume transfers.

Posted Aug 16, 2007 · 01:51 UTC#77

How so? I've used several different clients and still had probs.

AFMagnum's upload is progressing nicely, 3 of 9 apear complete as of this note, #5 is definitely in process... looks like it's probably going to be complete overnight tonite (his upload speed is pitiful, just like most of us who run cable modems) oh yeah, it's 7am Eastern as of this message Thursday morning

DucatiBoy... can't believe you never mentioned the FTP as a distribution point!

Hyperite: Bulletproof FTP allows for resume of transfers, no worries there!

Mainly cause I didn't know a server which would be appropriate for hosting this. I have a few FTP servers but I didn't want them to get slammed with traffic. It still ends up with a single point server and with the number of people who want this image, I guarantee you that there will be 2 dozen people downloading it as soon as it' up. I was thinking more bittorrent or newsgroup for the distributed hosting, instead of just one point. FTP is great, but did not have a good place to put the files and wouldn't want it on my server and no one I knew wanted to host it either.

Parts 01,03,04 and 05 seem complete

Posted Aug 16, 2007 · 12:58 UTC#82

I'm grabbing them here. After I get them all, I'll post instructions for the Torrent people..

Thanks to all for their contributions!

I'm not sure part 1 is complete. it's only 303 mb. while all the other are a gig a piece. But can't wait to play with this and have a "Peek see."

part 1 is not complete .. and it seems he stopped uploading. :(

Part 1 failed early on and I had to run to work. I continued the upload with 2-9. Once complete, I'll go back and upload 1.

You had to run to work

I have found it before refreshing the forum. Now I am confused. it states this program is for backing up a hard drive. the file we are all anxiously waiting for... is it a hard drive back up? or is it a certain two dvd's backup?

Just curious if anyone has looked at putting together a set of files that differ from the Z1 to the Z2.. hoping that this may reduce the transfer size..

Just a thought. Realize we're a lil late in the game for the initial push.. but I'm sure there are those w/ limited bandwidth that would appreciate a slimmed down version.

**EDIT: Also.. what version of Acronis was used to produce this?
