Excellent instructions, worked perfect! Now to bypass it being that the old ground the wire trick doesnt work with 70M discs.

What model are you using? My D1 still works fine with the same bypass that has been documented for years.

He has the N1. different bypass.

Ok, so I'm a little new to all of this copying stuff. Please be patient to me. I've read the previous posts and threads and I just want to get somethings straight if I may.

1.) Do you absolutely have to burn it to a .iso image in order to copy these discs, or can you burn it to another type of image, such as a nero image or whatnot?

2.) Looking for a final word: are the PIM files supposed to be 0kb or should they have a size? If they should have a size, I need to download the .rar's and insert them into my image in place of what is there?

Thanks for your help!

I have these images, and I've been trying to get them to work..

I can burn the image, the nav unit boots it, it shows the map, shows me where I am, but I can't search for addresses, no POI, I can scroll to something and plot directions to that point, but nothing else..

Any ideas?

I downloaded this and when i extract it. it says the file is corrupted. Does anyone have this problem, i have downloaded it 3 times and all 3 times it says files are corrupt.

Yes, that is exactly the same as what I have been getting too... I am trying a 4th time just in case...

Thanks a ton Mike... I was not using winrar to expand, was using a different rar utility... what a mistake on my part... Maybe that is something to remember... WINRAR to unzip the torrent. I have been reseeding the torrent since I found it is good and will have it at the fastest rate, and I have 10Mbs... but will only do for a few days to help pay back for such a great torrent... see posts in this topic for the link...

Thanks a lot!

I burned it last night and it worked great! Took about 3 mins. for the N2 to update and it DID change the look of the buttons and menus.

I'll seed it this weekend for anyone that wants it.

Hello guys, just received my N1, have not installed yet. Maybe tomorrow. I have some questions

I have version 1.2 40mt discs.

1) Did the ground wire bypass

2) downloaded the 70mtp east torrent, but correct me if I am wrong I could not find the west disc?

3) Is it possible to burn a dvd of 70mtp maps with the oldest N1 software? (1.2 40mt) I mean I don't want to do the soldering method to bypass but just want to update the maps to see the newest roads. Is it possible? If yes how?

4) Any of u installed on a jeep with the infinity sound system, I don't know Which way is better? Using the infinity amp with the outputs of N1 or without the infinity amplifier.

5) Do I have to connect the Extension lead for the speed signal? don't know how and where to connect it?

Thank you very very much for your replies...

I was up till 2 am this morning trying to burn dvd's that would work. Somehow I missed the post that said not to use Memorex!! I have factory 70 MT discs and I'm trying to "back them up". I have down loaded and tried about every program on the net and tried it. So far I have made the most progress (even with the Memorex disc) with the img program that was referenced to in this thread. Am I supposed to take a ISO copy and burn ISO to disc or copy disc and burn entire disc? I will try again tonight after I buy some Verbatum discs. Right now I atleast get the start up screen and then it says I have inserted the wrong disc. I have an Avic 88

and I know these factory discs work on it. I am not computer literate so any advise would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have to update. Turns out I was doing it right after all. My avic 88 has green cndv 50 mt discs in it and somethings causing it it to have this issue. My other avic 88 has the yellow discs in it (had). I put the east coast disc in first and it took off running!. everything works fine on it now. Theres something about that 50 mt as my factory 70's wont work in it either. Thanks for all the help and I really appreciate this site.

I have another update!! I used the newly burned iso cd's in a friends avic88 just like mine with a AVH7600dvd head unit just like mine and his will take the program. He had the 50 MT discs just like mine as well, so I can rule that possibility out. So far mine is the only avic 88 that wont take the update. I did however get int a black screen with a message that said it was for technician use only and asking for a password. Any ideas how to get that unit to take the up date. It wont take from original cd's or copied.

Just tried it for the first time, and no luck. Inserted and it said invalid media. I followed 94explorer's instructions to no avail, at least the first time. I used Imations, and am now going to try Fugifilms. I just read something about the DVD recorder having to be able to make DVD ROM's, and my Sony will not do that. I guess that's the next thing to look at? Sorry for the ignorance, but this is all new stuff. I haven't even begun to get to the stage about mounting, changing stuff in the PIM, and other things that have been discussed.

I bought an external Light Scribe from office max and I use Power ISO for image copy and Alcohol 120 to burn image. I also learned the hard way to use Verbatim discs. Now I'm ready to start adding images 8)

just thought id say this west disc works great, downloaded burnt and works... dont understand why people are having problems

if you prefer other burning software, just use deamontools to mount the image then burn from "dvd" to dvd using any program.

only help i can think of for anyone out there :?

OK I see that there is a East Disk and I am going to try that one shortly.. But where can I get the West Disk (That is the one I need mainly)

Thanks!

For your information guys. From personal experience the best program to image and burn these Nav disks is with DVD Decrypter.

Ekk. Im afraid to ask this. Im trying to find the ISO for a D1. I honestly dont really know much about these different types of files and etc. I bought a D1 used for my girlfriend. i have a D3 with the disks. I tried using the disks and nada. What a surprise. So Im trying to find a way to burn the disc for her. Pioneer has gotten enough money out of me lol. Im trying to download the torrents from earlier but no one is seeding :( Anyone know how I can get ahold of the files?

I am sure you can steal a copy of the CNDV70 disks if you search the torrents for them. They will work in the D1
