I'm getting "Wrong SD card, enter new one" every time.. did i miss something? Can anyone send me a .dll file to try? Faaarrrkkk

Maybe you have format SD card to fat32.

It boots up, enter the passwordpassword then it reboots, and then gets that error.. it wouldnt go that if it were not fat32

It sounds like you modified a file on the installation SD. The only change to SD files would be to use a different CARDINFO.CIF  if necessary. I hope you didn't replace RenewallFlib.dll on the installation SD. I'd just extract the whole thing from the zip (we know its good) or use the original unmodified one you bought.

I didnt touch anything on the install card, and got my dll from the unit ... Do you have a .dll you can send me to try?

OK, I thought it blew-up while doing the install, after entering the password. So you think it is blowing-up and rebooting because the DLL is corrupt? I hope you saved the original you got off the unit.

 

If you want, you can try this DLL. If it doesn't work, send me your original file and I'll patch it.

It shouldn't hurt to replace both. The non-active one will be overwritten during the update install. 

BTW, earlier you said you were going to buy a unit off ebay.  What unit do you now have? Do you know what the current software  version is?

version is 6.0.. x940.. im going to try you dll in a few.. i think my strep or whatever it was came back... dying at work today

When you get rested, try the one I sent (I hope you downloaded it because I deleted the attachment from the post. It had about a dozen downloads, but I didn't want everyone using it.  I didn't want dozens of babies crying if it didn't work.

Hey guys, I have a question. I have a z140. That I have hackmode on. But I got supertest and booted into test mode. I made a back up and put it on my comp. Then copied from the HU the renewall file and used hxd to change the hex to what the instructions specified. And installed it back on the HU. Then using a separate SD with the unzipped updated map file, put it in my HU and it's not recognizing the SD. No option to update or anything. I even tried switching the cardinfo.cif file and still nothing. The stereo and everything works. But won't read the SD. Any ideas as to why?

What is in the root directory of the map installation SD? It should be:

Firmware (folder)

Update (folder)

CardInfo.CIF (if you are installing 2017 US/Can, the one from nezfotnemom's zip)

Man thanks for the quick reply but I'm a dummy. I figured it out. I copied the whole file over to the SD so the HU was only seeing the folder with the files in it. So I took them out of the folder and it's updating now. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. This will be my first map update on the unit. Thanks again.

Update: here's the zipped Cardinfo.cif needed for Z110/Z120/X920. Unzip and replace the one in the above archive.  I added this here since it's better to keep related files in one place. RonS

Well on the F Series forum, they were successful installing the EU v7 on F20BT and F920BT. So the US should work with the correct CardInfo file.  I posted it earlier.  Make sure he follows the BT instructions in the installation manual - especially if it has old BT firmware ( < 3.10). If your bud has any issues connecting to iPod/Phone or other wired/wireless apps, do a hard reset and make sure App Connections is set correctly. I had to do that to get some things to work correctly.
