  1. i got it professionally installed. i actually just came back and he was showing me behind the unit. that pink wire was crimped down good in that little cylinder tube. the wire wasnt moving anywhere. where is the source of tap? the pink wire that goes from radio harness to the source. it was secure.
  2. i have the same problem with the front passenger speaker coming on and off if i go over bumps sometimes or make a sharp right turn. the speaker will just cut out, but if i turn up the volume up and up it will come back on. winter time/cold is worse with speaker turning on and off. no idea. everything is securely connected. it might be the HU harness
  3. so i just got that speaker converter blue box replaced. he couldnt find any reason why its shutting off besides the harness to the unit. that one that plugs into the z1. that was for the front right speaker issue turning on and off. we see how it goes. everything works fine right now and the speed pulse is working again. i hope it doesnt shut off again. that pink wire was connected and secured. so i dont know why it keeps going on and off. he said it could be the actual harness from the pioneer unit. do you know how much those are to get it replaced?
  4. i cant believe i got to open up my center console again. ive opened it like 10 times to try and fix the connection. i have to connect the pink speed pulse wire again. it is reading 0 sometimes and if i bang the side enough times, it comes back on. sometimes when i start the headunit, it will just come on and work fine. its wierd.
  5. do you think maybe its because of the cold? it seemed like it is happening more because of the cold. Thats means i have to remove whole center console and check that pink wire!! how come if i bang the side it sometimes just comes back on speed pulse
  6. sometimes when i start up my navi right away when i drive the car, it will not move until like 5 min later. my speed pulse is not going up and down with the bars under connection status. wierd thing sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt. if i bang the center console on the side the speed pulse will come back on.
  7. ok i got it to work i used disk director to make the partitions then true image home to mount the images. Now that i thought of it i should of removed the copyright text on boot up. Well now its too late, my drive is already locked. so when its locked and i take it out. Acronic true image cant not read the partitions because its locked? What is the pw that pioneer gives the HD? i dont understand the whole process why you have to pay like $50 to get a key
  8. problem after problem, im trying to image all 4 partitions and when i get to the 3rd one i move the partition size over and make it 37 gb so just enough space to put the 4th one on, but it keeps going back to 9.307 GB when i go to finish. im using acronis
  9. its not there i messed up and deleted it. so i got to download it again. anyway if i forget the security support thing and i image the drive. does that mean the next update for maps the drive will already be locked once it goes into that Z unit and i will have to get it unlocked and pay $50 to save my music?
  10. woww this makes my day i was playing around with acronis true image and i wanted to redo and start over so i deleted the backup thinking it was just on the software and i deleted the whole z3 image!!! how do i get the files back omg
  11. this is what it says calculating new checksum... writing changes to the drive device error.
  12. if this is any help the magic boot in MS DOS. i am going through the setting through the C:/MHDD. Its not through A:/MHDD. Thats a bad file name or incorrect command.
  13. can i choose that option in MHDD unlocking?
  14. it shows the drive is unlocked. i have no idea why am i getting a device error right below when it says reading or writing change sum. i didnt get it before when i had the 40gb.
  15. its not locked, this is wierd i dont know why i cant change the security
  16. i bought it used i have no idea if someone put it in a Z or not. if that was the case theres no way of unlocking besides paying that $50. I just want everything deleted i dont care losing anything.
  17. I did all that like i said at the end when it tries to change security it says checking sum and then device error
  18. ok so i connected to another comp and it detected it, when i changed the security and it checking sum, it said device error. it wouldnt make the changes. so now im scanning for repair. should i just reformat the HD? why is there a device error?
  19. the MHDD detects my SATA drives, but it still will not detect the IDE Toshiba 60gb. I put it on IDE master and slave. i see the toshiba drive detected in bios and i feel the power running on it. why is there always a problem?
  20. which option should i be selecting at the beginning 1 or 2 from bootup? Adapter SCSI supported?
  21. ok great i got it to detect through the bios, but when i load the magic boot disk. it shows nothing when i tried it on primary and slave. there is no drives to select, since i have the SATA drives disconnected. it runs from windows 98, that must be the internal bootup. i have chose option 1 and 2 and still nothing. I would think its option 1 with the SCSI adapater support. im going to try and download a new copy of the magic boot. i dont know why its not detecting the 60gb so i can remove security. i tried shift F3 to refresh and showing nothing. should i have my cd rom connecting to primary I
  22. its the MK6034GAX, which side is pin 1? what do you mean its labeled. it doesnt say anything on the HD
  23. i got a 60gb coming, so how exactly do i plug the IDE adapter to comp and then to HD. I do it the same way where i see my cdrom drives with the little missing bottom pin in the middle. i have to hook it up for the first time on that to disable the security thing so might as well image the drive also from that.
  24. today i downloaded the z3 2009 maps, i have an aftermarket toshiba 40gb drive that i have been using for like 2 years now. i have a z1 upgraded to a z3. so i took out the drive the little screws stripped because they suck and so skinny/small. i drilled them out carefully. i tried to hook up the drive to the computer using the IDE adapter and it would not power on. i tried master, slave flipped it unside down and it would not detect it. so i put it back in my car and what do you know. it says cant use HDD. So i tried my OEM factory one and that works like a charm. i am so mad because now i lost
  25. also why would someone want to remove the copyright on the splash screen? If you already have a aftermarket unlocked HD and just need to copy a new image on there. how does one do that if hey have SATA HD, do you just unplug the CDROM drives that are IDE and plug in the HD? you can copy from SATA to IDE HD? I forgot how i did this when i did my z1 to z3
