1. Not sure, but if there is an auto option, then it has to. I would hope they woulnd't have removed this feature. Yeah, I just went thru all the menus on the AVIC-D3 and could not find an auto option. Bummer... Matt
2. Oh OK. I am going to go see if I can find that. Are you sure the D3 has the same built in sensor? Matt
3. I was thinking the exact same thing! What the hell are these guys smoking?! They told me I either need to sign a waiver or have Pioneer give the OK that they would cover it if it burned out my factory wiring. Matt Just go into the initial setup menu and set the illumination to auto. The unit has a light sensor on it that detects light so the unit is only fully bright during the day and get's dimmer as it get's darker out. How do I get to the initial setup menu on the AVIC-D3? Matt

5. Mine does the exact same thing. I also get the message about the improper brake connection. What I'm thinking is that they grounded the parking brake wire, but not the mute wire. This is probably the cause, right? Matt
6. Hello everyone. I've had my AVIC-D3 installed in my 2006 Chevy Impala for quite some time now. I've always noticed how the screen is so darn bright at night time because the shop that installed the system didn't hook up the illumination wire. So I brought the vehicle back there to get it hooked up and they're telling me that hooking up the illumination wire could burn the factory wiring and I would need to sign a waiver for them to hook it up so they aren't at fault. Is this true? I do have the GMOS-LAN-01 and isn't the illumination wire supplied right at that harness? Can't they just conn
7. I have already tried resetting the unit but to no avail. I'm guessing that the installer forgot to ground the mute wire at all and it's not just a lose connection. Matt
8. OK, now I definitely know that the mute wire was moved because I did it myself when the unit arrived. So then the installer must have forgot to ground the mute wire? That could be the only possibility, correct? Because it sounds like the parking brake wire coming from the D3 was properly grounded. Matt
9. Hello everyone. I just had my AVIC-D3 installed yesterday and I absolutely love it. I told the installer to do the bypass and he said he did. I tryed to make sure it worked but driving faster than 10 MPH caused the video to go out and a message popping up saying something about watching video while driving is not encouraged or something similar to that. When I look in system settings/options it says the parking brake is ON. This is what it should say if the bypass is done, correct? What could be wrong? I also get the message popping up when I start the unit saying that it detected the parking
10. Hello everyone. As we speak, my AVIC-D3 navigation system in being installed in my 2006 Chevy Impala. I was wondering if anyone can please make me a background image for it with this image/background and throw an Impala logo on there or something (preferably with a red into a white sort of fade) It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!
11. Also, I will be purchasing the GMOS-LAN-01 factory integration adapter. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-pJSNb6Q7CuA/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=751&tab=essential_info&i=120OSLAN01#Tab I saw somewhere else that the VSS wire, retained accessory, and reverse wires would be available right at the harness. Is that true with this adapter also? Matt
12. Hello everyone. I will be purchasing an AVIC-D3 soon and was wondering where the VSS wire is located in a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. Thanks in advance! Matt
