  1. The update is now EXPECTED before the end of the year... See the attached image...
  2. Correct, in theory. The folks at iDataLink Maestro are VERY helpful. I'd suggest calling them to verify what features will work and won't work. They already know what Pioneer plans to support.
  3. The RR allows for smart car integration, such as Ford Sync. It automatically talks to your car's infotainment computer and integrates your stock bluetooth mic, stock Sirius/XM antenna, stock USB and AUX, stock computerized climate control, voice commands specific to your car, etc into your AVIC NEX. For some reason, Pioneer decided not to allow the gauges display to function. This would have showed engine status, mileage, voltages, etc.
  4. And yes... You need to program it as a short press. Even with a short press, you have to press and hold... That is just how Siri is set up. If set as a long press, you have to hold even longer for Siri to kick in, if it kicks in at all.
  5. I have the idatalink Maestro SW... It works fantastic and is SUPER easy to program! The SW is fully supported by the AVICs... Only the RR needs the new firmware to work (minus the gauges feature). My 2010 4Runner doesn't support the extra features of the RR anyway.
  6. Here is the thread... http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38651-power-support-ipad-anti-glare-screen-protector-on-avic-8000/
  7. Use an ipad or iPad mini anti-glare screen protector! There is already a thread about this. Fingerprints, smudges, and reflections are a thing of the past, but, like any screen, the sun still washes it out a bit, but not enough to bother me in everyday use.
  8. WWDC is actually June 2-6. https://developer.apple.com/wwdc/
  9. So I was just playing around some more... iPhone over USB doesn't have a dedicated "Radio" icon in the Root menu like Playlists, Artists, etc., BUT your stations are listed if you tap on Playlists! For me, they are at the bottom of the list, and are labeled as "Radio: [station name]".
  10. iTunes Radio shows up as a folder in the list via USB/iPod for you???
  11. One more thing to add about connecting via USB vs. BT... iTunes Radio shows up as an option in the list (alongside playlists, artists, albums, etc.) over BT, but NOT USB amazingly! When you tap it, it shows you all the stations you have created. Hopefully Pioneer will get this feature working over USB with the firmware update!
  12. Here are a Toyota splash and background that I made for my AVIC-8000NEX in my 4Runner.  The logo on the background jpeg fits perfectly between the icons on the NEX home screen.  The orange background matches the panel lights of 5th gen 4Runners.
