  5. This thread is for Any options that can be connected to the head units, If you have something hooked up, please post where it is hooked up and picture of item and if possible screenshot of device in operation. Inputs available: AUX- uses RCA to 3.5 adapter A/V Input uses RCA RGB input or RGB for non navi units HDMI input
  6. The NEX models are AVIC 5100NEX, AVIC 6100 NEX, AVIC 7100 NEX, AVIC 8100 NEX AVH 4100 NEX. The 4100 does not have Navigation, without the AVIC U-260 add on.
  7. The 4100 is an AVH, and it does need the bypass, read the thread. Only AVIC models with navigation only. I repeat get the bypass and be done with it. they are all NEX, but they are not all AVIC. The sticky post explicitly says AVIC ONLY.
  8. buy and install the micro-bypass http://www.amazon.com/MicroBypass-Parking-Automatic-Interface-AVH-4100NEX/dp/B00VKQ6ECQ
  9. I wonder if turning the subwoofer setting to off, if this would work for you.
  10. Correct, the NEX sends signal as soon as it is powered on, does not distinguish between inputs. Whereas the oem has signal for antenna separate from signal to oem amp.
  11. Touch the gears in top right corner to get to settings Touch the The tools icon below the star icon Touch The input/output setting This screen will show smartphone, Aux, and A/V (on or off) Make sure they are on, default is off
  12. screen shots of digital tv tuner as requested : last shot is of remote control receiver, since unit is hidden. This is in 03 Land Rover Discovery 2. I had to modify the dash fascia to install it since it came with a single din or should i say 1.5 din opening.
  13. Sorry, I did not mean to imply that they supplied power. I meant for example, Apple TV runs on 110, there are some android mini-pc boxes that run on 12 volts, but most utilize HDMI. But like you already have front camera, I have seen mini-dvr cameras that can be hooked up to RCA via adapter cables. Not a whole lot of things come to mind. I have a rooted android mini-PC that I have hooked up before, with appradio unchained, but using hotspot, it seems real slow. I have better luck mirroring iPhone 6 and playing YouTube and the like. Only problem there is HDMI will not mirror to headrest monitor
  14. Will post screen shots this evening from computer.
  15. A/V has to enabled.input/output settings-AV input to ON.
  16. The one i use is BOYO VT-MHC ATSC and ASTC M/H Tuner Combo Vehicle TV Tuner, To answer your question about motion, with the antenna that comes with it, the signal is in and out while moving. I have purchased Digital TV Antenna with amplifier, but have yet to install it. I only watch it when i am parked and waiting for something or someone. I will try to get antenna installed and get back to you.
  17. The RCA input for the A/V input are red, white and yellow, bundled with the 4 speaker outputs on the right side of the rear. there are 7 RCA cords that come out, 4 (2 red, 2 white) are for hooking up to optional amplifier, then there is red, white and yellow that are for A/V input. They should be marked. There are several options, I have digital TV tuner on mine. Anything that puts out audio and video and runs on 12 volts can be hooked up to this.

  19. According to the instructions, no other device can be connected.no sdcard, no hard drive(except the blank sdcard you are updating with) I would even remove cd/dvd if one is in slot. Emergency brake on, or bypassed.
  20. No, a/v input is RCA inputs, AUX is 3.5 input. Both have to be turned on in settings to light up.
  21. No, the non navigation head units use this port for the AVIC-U260 navigation add-on module.
  22. Some food for thought here. If your vehicle comes with amp installed, and you use the speaker level wires to the oem harness, you are sending amplified signal to your oem amp. If you use the RCA harness, then of course it is sending flat signal to the oem amp. I don't think the oem amp has any adjustment for the amplified signal and possibly distort the sound. I think normally, in a factory system with an oem amp, the oem head unit sends a flat signal to the oem amp. Please correct me if i am wrong.
  23. My Land Rover has two antennas 1 large and 1 small and i got the adapter from them(previous post)
