Did I say I wouldn't call? No. I simply questioned Pioneer's concern for our complaints, as we've been complaining for months about CarPlay and haven't gotten a single response. That's all, man. But if it makes you feel like you're getting something accomplished to call people selfish and scared on the Internet, knock yourself out.

Is this a joke?

I agree that this is incredibly annoying. The only workaround I've discovered is to leave my music app open on my phone when I leave the car; then, if you start CarPlay up with the music app already open, it will go right back to where you left off. Of course, if you listen to music or audiobooks on your phone in between those times, you lose your place.

Eric, you need to calm down a little bit. I understand from your many posts about this issue that you are extremely concerned about it, but coming on here and being snide and rude to people really doesn't make anyone want to jump on board and help you.

I have noticed a very strange thing that if I try to use "Hey, Siri," it will activate and listen but nothing will happen. If I use Siri through a long press of the home button, Siri works fine.

Will calling Pioneer do anything? They weren't exactly responsive to our complaints about the CarPlay delay.

Try cycling through the parking brake a few times and see if that activates the options.

I use my SD card a lot to play lossless music files and I really wish there was a way to access them through CarPlay. Maybe a third-party app could address this?

I understand the difference between the two, I'm just curious as to why Pioneer wouldn't want to make the display more of a drawing card for customers.

Its just strange because it never happened before today. Oh, well...I guess it's the price I have to pay to get CarPlay.

Anyone else having this problem? Whenever I shut the car off while playing music through CarPlay, there is a loud POP of static that comes through the speakers. This never happened before the update, and at least one other person posted the same issue on the Pioneer Facebook page. Have to keep remembering to stop the music or turn the volume down before shutting the car off.

Anybody else having trouble with the Spotify app? It just doesn't work for me at all.

I really wonder why they went with a smaller screen. Seems like that would be a dealbreaker to a lot of people (including me).

Okay, good. Thanks for the input. Now, my only issue is this: I still have the Pioneer 30-pin cable hooked up to USB1 and have been using a lightning adapter with my new iPhone. I'm hoping that will work with CarPlay, but I guess I'll find out soon enough....

I'm reading comments on the Pioneer Facebook page and now I'm confused. If I'm using an SD card to update, can I update directly from the SD slot that's built into the unit? Some people are saying that no matter what the media, it has to go through USB1.

Once I download the files and decompress the .zip file, do I put the entire folder that says AVICNEX5000 on my SD card, or do I take the files out of that folder so that they're the only thing on the SD card (not in a folder)? Hope that makes sense.
