thank you all you guys for your help. i was finally removed the flashing circuit and did the 2 wire bypass and now the unit works like a charm but there is another issue now which i need to ask you guys a way to fix it. while giving directions my unit used to interrupt any audio sounds but now it gives directions while audio sound is on and won't interrupt it. i would appreciate any help to solve this issue thanks

thank you for your previous responses, i have another silly question. some one told me that the z2 can not be bypassed and even though it is bypassed after a while unit will realize that it has been bypassed and will lock out the unit, that person also told me that the z1 can not be bypassed if it is upadated by the new firmware update and if attempted to bypass it, the unit will lock out as well. is this true? thanks

i meant how to fix the issue i have with the e-brake , since you mentioned when my bypass was installed in the first place, the e-brake was used so that is why my unit doesn't function even with the e-brake set thanks

i see. any ideas how i can fix this issue. sorry when it comes to electronics i can be really dumb. i don't even know which wire is the brake wire.

if it is the e-brake wire, then it must have been disconnected later. because when first my z1 was installed, i had no bypass on it and it would perform perfectly when the e-brake was set. i put that bypass a month later after my z1 was installed and it performed nice.

i will do the 2wire bypass for sure but shouldn't the unit function without the bypass when the e-brake is set? because mine isn't now that i've removed the bypass even with the e-brake set. i am not even able to use the "setting" function een with the e-brake set thanks

i seem to have the same problem. my avic-z1 features don't work even with the e-brake on. i used to have the ducatiboy's bypass module installed on my z1 which performed perfectly but a while back i installed the new update cd which would solve the freezing issue, following that i lost all the functions of my unit so i had to remove that module to get the things back the way they were but my unit is still not functional; all the navigation search bottoms and setting options are grayed out and not available, even with the e-brake set. any idea what is wrong here? i would really appreciate any

thanks buddy i found out what files i have to download and then uplpoad on my unit. after uploading those files i still need to do the 2 WIRE bypass as well?

so in order to bypass my upgraded avic-z1 by cndv-700hd, i need to download the bypass files first and then 2 the 2WIRE method and that is all i need to do?

i have upgraded my avic-z1 with the new cndv-700hd is my unit is a z2 now? and if it is can it be bypassed by the bypasses for avic-z2?

do you know if an upgraded avic-z1 by installing the new cndv-700hd, can be bypassed and if it can, how? is this upgraded unit now considered an avic-z2? i have seen bypasses being sold for avic-z2 will they work with upgraded avic-z1?
