  1. You my friend are a genius, either that or i'm an idiot. I believe it could be a mixture of both, lol. Thanks, that solved the problem. If you were closer I'd buy you a drink.
  2. My Z2 has been installed on the car for about 2 years now and as of recently the library cannot be heard. On screen it shows it playing but nothing is coming out of the speakers. AM/FM is working perfectly fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  3. bump, please if anyone can help with my library not being able to play. The avic shows its playing but nothing comes out from the speakers. Not sure if this helps but while in library I would press either menu or map and not even the usual tone/beep comes through the speakers. I go out of library and everything goes back to normal ....
  4. That's what I was afraid of... I was hoping this would just be a wiring issue since I didn't do anything but clean up the butt connectors by soldering the harness in. That's kind of what I'm having issues with now with my Z2. Driving here in NY the roads/highways are very close together and the navi is constantly "refinding" itself now. Sucks . Searched through the vehicle specific forum and I can't seem to find a definitive answer either as to where to tap the VSS to. Thanks for the help Garret.
  5. I apologize if this question has already been answered in the past but I've tried searching the forum and was unable to find where to tap the VSS to. I tried going through the website stickied up top but it doesn't have an option for BMW's . -Pete
  6. That's great it's there but where is "there"? So confused .... anyone? Search only led me to threads like this
  7. Thanks for that Garret. Can anyone else answer my question specifically in terms of if the 2 wires have anything to do with my library not able to play? Any ill effects from not having the vss hooked up? I didn't know where exactly to hook it up ...
  8. If anyone can post a wiring pinout of the z2 that would help greatly! I believe the 2 wires I left disconnected was for the back up camera (don't have) and the vss (speed sensor).
  9. The installer connected my z2 to my factory wiring harness with butt connectors (didn't use the aftermarket harness). Started experiencing speaker cut outs and decided to redo the wiring. Upon inspection I noticed the butt connectors were starting to get loose (wires were thinning). I soldered the aftermarket harness in and was able to clean everything up. I did however leave 2 wires unconnected (had no clue where they went). Now the library play list wont play but everything else is working fine. Any help? I know this is vague but I would like to try and troubleshoot this before having t
  10. update.... I got the cd to work in the nav but at 92/92 completion it says program upload failed. Now it just goes from the startup screen - program updating - to program failed. I have no control over the unit now...
  11. ps. all i get after i insert the disc is "CD-ROM inserted"
  12. Sorry to go offtopic on this but what do they mean by no multisession ... mode 1... cd-r? I burned the new firmware onto a cd-r but when i install the cd-r into the z2 it does nothing ... I'm an old school guy and can't get the hang of this. Can anyone give me some help?
