So my setup is already: 8000NEX, 600w JL Audio amp, JL audio sub. speakers are kenwood. 2 in the door, 2 in the rear deck and 2 tweeters on the dash. my comparison is that my BMW has 9 speakers and 2-6in subs, all harmon pardon, and the sound is clear, crisp and rich. In comparison, the honda sound is flat and tinny. Sure, there's 6 speakers and a sub in the honda, so I get the unequal comparison. I'm looking for a fuller, richer sound. I'm also considering custom made door panels that would house another pair of speakers to improve the sound. I guess I'm not sure if expensive foca

I have kenwoods hooked up to the 8000 - not entirely happy with the quality of sound. What speakers do you have and how happy/unhappy are you with the sound quality?

My installer told me that none of the pioneer receivers with navigation have wireless remote capability.

I have the same issues - it randomly doesn't show album art. I couldn't guess what the issue is. However, I mainly expand the presets so that the various channel logos show, causing the album art window to be pushed out anyway.

As long as it can sit in the recess that my unit is mounted in, that's all I need.

That's a great point. I believe it was a $40 add-on. My installers treat me very well - they've done work on all my vehicles for a few years and also the services I purchase as gifts for others. Besides, I'm not happy with the 7000 due to the screen glare and my installer is OK with me paying the difference for the 8000 and swapping it out for me, no extra charge.

I just bought it, thank you for posting this. This is awesome. I love decoys and deception as a theft deterrent technique. If someone sees something this cheap-looking, they decide it isn't worth the effort and move on.

Why would a damp cloth (water) harm the screen? I can see where spraying significant amounts of water, or any liquid for that matter, could cause moisture issues. Why is water damaging if used sparingly vs isopropyl alcohol?

When I use AUX mode for an external sound source - I get a blank screen. Is there any way to use an image for the AUX mode? Or am I limited to switching to NAV, just to have something on the screen?

I have a 7000. The installer grounded the parking brake wire and installed a bypass relay. It worked for a few minutes. Then the 7000 sensed motion, ostensibly via the gps unit, and the restrictions returned. Applied the procedure for software bypass and it works. My passengers can now operate the navigation unit while I am driving.
