AppRadio Extensions 2.0 Beta - Full iPhone control
dsd replied to mikedecaro's topic in AppRadio, AppRadio 2, AppRadio 3
How do I get music controls in the apps? Also, whenever I exit iGo, I get black screen. Does not seem to matter to the AppRadio version. I see the AppRadio app and even the connection screen but it's black. Only when exiting iGo. I can manually swap apps to return to normal but swapping out of iGo on head unit causes black. Thoughts? -
Dedicated iPhone 4 for the AppRadio2

If you have a NEX, CarPlay will be out in about 6 weeks. I'd wait. AppRadio is so tempermental, especially for a dedicated glove box device. I cant get it to work reliably without having to touch the phone at least once a trip-- which is useless. -
The iPhone restricts the use of non Apple certified/signed Bluetooth devices from using the appropriate profile. The "Made for Apple" program/license is quite expensive (starts at $100k). So, certified devices need to recoup that cost, thus cost more. Is that the phone to blame or the dongle? -dsd

Thats a dongle that is "Made for iPhone" certified. The cheap clone's will not work.

All, Anyone have thoughts on the best offline nav solution for ApoRadio. NavFree is cool but has issues with specific addresses for destinations. So, I'm looking at iGo or Sygic. Thoughts? Thanks. dsd

AppRadio Extensions 2.0 Beta - Full iPhone control

Mike posted the source code for ios7 on github. This is ios7 compatible and, as of now, only backgrounds the appradio app. Cydia apps are packaged deb files from source code, this is raw source code, just not sure how to create a deb as all my attempts seem to fail. -
It's the phone. You can jailbreak and use Bt4obd ($4) but that is technically unsupported. Honestly, the clone elm327 are crap. I bought one to play with-- it came with pirated software. The Bluetooth drops in and out constantly to a laptop. I ordered the MX Wifi.

I'll admit to being behind the 8 ball, but I cannot get the IOS7 github to compile. Anyone had luck urning this into a .deb? Thanks! dsd -

I'm going down this road and am downgrading my spare 4s to a 4 so I can run ios6 with app extensions. What's killed me in ios7 is the Apo radio would like to connect. I can switch apps without having to touch the phone. Do stupid. -
Once you have an obd2 dongle, more sophisticated software for a laptop can do tpms and reset codes. Dashcmd, can read and reset codes, but has a limited vehicle db (they are in app purchases). The link I posted above has everything you need.

I can confirm that elm327 clones will not work. I have the MX wifi on preorder: http://www.scantool.net Is it worth it? Depends on your use, but probably not. Still, cheap fun.

AppRadio Extensions 2.0 Beta - Full iPhone control

My phone is a full time glove box device, so its an issue. I have a jailbroken ios7 and set up a bunch of tweaks and was wondering where this message is coming from (library wise) and I can try and write a Flex tweak or even my own extension. Thanks! -

Is there anyway in iOS 7 to simply suppress the "AppRadio Appadio would like to communicate with the Pioneer AV receiver". If I could get that, I would be so happy -
What OBD2 dongle are you using?
