  1. Yes! Ended up resetting the unit. That fixed the issue. Now comes the re-configuring . . .
  2. So everything was working great yesterday and the NEX 4000 has been installed since they came out (so a while), but this morning clicking the volume increase button just displayed the volume but wouldn't let me increase it. The lower volume button had the same effect. The mute button did nothing. The other physical buttons all worked. I clicked on the EQ and found it grayed out. I went to audio settings and other than changing the mute behavior all other audio settings appeared to be disabled. What happened? My setup is the NEX4000 in a Miata, with the steering wheel controls (Metra
  3. I can confirm that the new Bluetooth firmware (from the 4100) runs great on the 4000nex. It definitely connects faster and audio quality is no worse
  4. I've been picking through the compiled 4100 firmware files, specifically PLATFORM/PJ140PLT.PRG with a text editor (TextWrangler) and there is some tidbits that might fuel your speculation. There is code about wifi/sofmac and then there is this: system/extend/extmodule/dioclient/Sources/AirPlayNTPClient.cBad family: %##aStarted %p to %##a from %##a Negotiating time with %##a ### Negotiate send to %##a failed (%d): %#m ### Negotiate wait for %##a failed (%d, %d): %#m ### Negotiate recv failed (%d, %d): %#m ### Negotiate with %##a failed: %d, %d, %d, %d Successfully negotiated time with %##a
  5. So I'm too chicken/don't have the time to mess with a broken radio to try this out on my own 4000, BUT I did start looking through the program files in the 4000 to 4100 upgrade, specifically PLATFORM/PJ140PLT.PRG with a text editor (TextWrangler) and there is quite a bit of plain text that should be modifiable and might have some impact on your efforts. Specifically around line 778593 there are some configurations, by model number, that should be editable. If you open it with TextWrangler (Mac) or similar and search for "sysdconf_root" you should go right to the section I'm talking about.
  6. Don't rush, the Pioneer site appears to be down or at least very, very, very slow. They seem not to have planned for the onslaught of traffic . . . surprise surprise.
  7. Here is what worked for me. Mixtrax app is running on my mac, I plug in a USB drive formatted FAT32, a dialog appears in Mixtrax the says something about a device and has a input box with that says "Removable Disk 1", thing is, that's not the name of the thumb drive. I put in the correct name of the thumb drive and click the "OK" button and it show up. Had I hit the OK button without changing the name it doesn't show up. Good luck.
  8. I can't compare, but it did a good job in my Miata, a notoriously hard car to get to sound good.
  9. New york auto show, you could "play" with it on what I think was a sonata.
  10. CarPlay is working fine on iOS7 . . . II really don't think this is the issue.
