  1. Is it possible to use a bluetooth headset which connects to the Z110 and bypass the cheap wired mic from Pioneer? From what I've read the Parrot mics are not changing the problem which leads me to believe its an internal software or electronics issue, not the mic. This is strange since we replaced an F900 Pioneer which had GOOD BT performance but the unit itself was plauged with being slow, long lag times etc. So now the Z110 does have faster response times and start up but the reverse it the problem, the BT sucks. In fact I've found it works just a tad better when the mic is furthest
  2. I've done all the updates to my Z110BT, including the $160 map updates, plus the latest 2.03 firmware, moved the mic from the rear view mirror to the far left next to the visor and still the sound quality is poor. Mine sounds a bit muffled instead of clear. Sometimes it sounds as if the words run together. Has there been any other fix or remedy? Oh and I also tried wrapping tape around the end of the mic as well, no go....
  3. Is it possible and simple to take lets say an F series use a 4 channel amp to run a set of components up front, then use the head units speaker outputs to bi amp the rear speaker (components)? How would you make adjustments via fader with the head unit? Thanks
  4. Thanks, I kinda figured this was what was going on. I guess since HD automatically switches from HD to regular depending on reception this makes sense.
  5. I just installed my Z110BT, everything seems to work, CD, IPOD and HD radio but the regular AM or FM are both grayed out. Does this have something to do with HD radio being installed. On my old F series and D3 I had both, HD radio and regular AM and FM. Any suggestions? Thank you I took photos of the back of my F900 series and my new Z110BT, should I post these photos for people who are thinking about upgrading from a F series to a Z110 or Z120? It shows the different connections needed. Basically the RCA connection cable was the only major change, the harness from the F900 plugged ri

    Blu Ray?

I would use DVD Copy 123 or something like that to make a copy of my Blue Ray disks and then move them to an IPOD and play them that way. Handbrake is another good program for reducing file size. First it was CD where you had about 800mb of space then we went to DVD and went past 4gb of space. While the size of content that can be put on a disk has grown as stated viewing it on a 7" screen does not make it that appealing. OK so a blue ray disk could hold much more data on just one disk but then I prefer to get rid of disks and have it all on an IPOD with 160GB. Just my opinion.
  7. I'm having a problem searching this site, usually if you wanted to find the term "bi amp" you would use " before and after the two words and it would only search for those two words found together. However when I put "bi amp" in the search box it looks for "amp" and then finds too many to find what I'm searching for. This happens in advanced search. What do you enter into the search box to look for posts about BI AMP? Thank you
  8. Has anyone ever found a site where someone tested all these rear view cameras? Everyone seems to look for quality but it appears the only variable is price. Sales folk will steer you to the more expensive units but that does not always mean better image. Unless someone had them all side by side to compare it would be hard to comment. Most people install one and feel the picture is OK and there is not much difference from one to the other. Is there a difference between the $300 Sanyo that has birds eye view and the cheap $99 Boyo camera?
  9. HD Radio sucks, I added the HD option to an F series and have it with my D3 and I am not happy with it. While the concept was sound and it appeared something I would want I rarely use it. Now I live on the fringes of Los Angeles where we do get reception but not all that often and it comes and goes. So while the sound quality when you can get it is nice the fact that it drifts far too often makes it something I rarely use. The interface was a big disappointment. If you expect all this digital information forget about it, you get less information. The presets are a joke (no info attaches to the

    Z2 or z110bt

Is the IPOD interface that much better on the Z110BT then the old F series? I have a D3 and know someone with a F series and did not see that much of an improvement from D3 to F series. Even with the latest software the F series is still slow, command touches are slow and things tend to stick or take their own sweet time. Z series was cool, pop in a CD and it rips its own songs from it. I agree it was way too expensive but still built in "Japan". Ever notice when things start coming from China the prices bottom out. Anyone ever find out what the biggest sized hard drive was which you c
  11. I installed an F series and I recall there IS a button at the top right of the screen where you can have the complete rear screen show the rear view as you drive. We hooked it all up as instructed in the manual, it was a small Panasonic camera we used with nice picture, got it on Ebay new for $100 shipped. Images were sharper then Boyo in my experience. Also good night images. I also think it was hooked to an AV port on the F series. But really to get to see the rear view while in motion forward it was not big deal or difficult to figure out.

    D3 to Z1100BT

I have a D3 and tried an F series a year back, while the main harness was the same some of the wires did not seem to be the same so I had to change the wires on the harness. It's also true the GPS antenna differs, I did not know you could change the connector so I re-ran the wire. I could use my HD radio module but the other items for the D3 were not compatible. Good luck, it appears upgrading from the aged D3 is worth while. I still stuck with my D3 due to the slow F factor. I'd love to hear from X D3 owners who have up graded to the Z110BT and how they like it. I remember paying about $7
  13. I have a D3 and recently had a F900 series that I tried out, I would assume its not much different then the new X series. I too was concerned with what changes as far as harness and plugs. I can tell you this. You'll have to change the GPS antenna since the plug is different. The microphone had a different jack as well. The main harness for the unit us the same however some of the wires going into the harness differed a bit, I recall I did the hack on the D3 so that might explain a different wire. The unit did work with the same harness but it did have some issues. Hope this helps as I was in
  14. Thanks, I had a problem with MSN direct, I did not complete the MSN portion of the update so it would not work and any time I put either SD card in I got a card read error. The key to resolving this for me and getting the MSN update is to turn the car OFF. Put in the SD 2, start the car, allow the system to boot, wait for MSN to connect, then go to "Status" and the updates starts on its own, 8 minutes later your done. Thanks to the previous poster for pointing out the steps, particularly inserting the update SD only when the car is OFF.
