  1. This might have been discussed, but I just got most of the bugs worked out with my system and they fixed the dimming of my Z1, but it only works when I turn on the lights manually. I have the auto headlights so I don't ever worry about switching on the lights anymore. Did they just hook up the deck to the wrong wire? Any info would help so that I can just go back and tell them what needs to be done.
  2. That's disappointing to hear. I just ordered my mic from parrot.
  3. So did anyone find out how to fix it? I have the same problem in a 2006 GMC Sierra Denali. My XM radio work, but I don't think my navtraffic works at all. Speaking of, how can you tell if the navtraffic is working?
  4. Ok...so just to be sure, does that mean the jack size on the Z1 is 2.5mm(3/32")? I called parrot and asked about the microphone. The guy said I could order one for $7.50 which includes shipping or you can pay an extra $20 for overnight shipping. It's possible you could get it for free if you tell him you want to replace it as if you already have one or the kit, because he asked if I wanted an additional mic or to replace it. That's when I told him I didn't have one, but that I just wanted the mic. Also it's possible that you won't need the adapter. If you ask for a mic for the 3100 k
  5. I called parrot and of course they told me that it was just a regular cheap mic and that the noise filter and stuff was in the unit not the mic. Whatever...anyway he said that he could send one out to me if I really wanted one, but what I want to know is what kind of adapter do I need to plug it into the Z1? I know the parrot mic is a 2.5 jack, but I don't know what the Z1 is. I'm assuming the adapter is one that converts a 2.5 jack to a 3.5 jack. I also heard that the Z1's jack is the same size in length as the typical jack whatever size it is.
  6. DB-Not sure if you saw my other post, but I've been told by someone that on the new units that there is a pin missing so instead of the 20 pins, it's actually only 19 or vice-versa. He said something about possibly grounding a wire for that blank pin. Sorry don't know anything about electrical stuff. He also said that behind the warranty sticker, there's a switch to flip that will bypass all the safety features. I don't know how true all of this, but it was what I was told...Of course I've been told that the new units aren't "fixed" either. Hope this can help in some way.
  7. Hey all...Newbie here, but I've been reading for a while since I've been interested in getting the Z1. Anyway, I've recently become concerned about the new July batches. When I was calling around to inquire about it, one person told me that Pioneer has changed the unit in July. Something about the 20 pin connector on the back. That the new units have one of the pins blank and that on the older units that pin used to be grounded. I have no idea if any of that makes sense because I have no knowledge on wiring, etc. I hope this helps or can make a difference so someone can figure out how to
