  1. Yes I've had the same keyboard issue since installing the first firmware update. It seems to be worse while I'm driving than while parked. I wonder if the parking break bypass has anything to do with it? Anyone else notice a difference between using the navigation keyboard while driving vs. while parked?
  2. This sounds like good news! I thought that 32gb SDHC was the highest capacity that could be used in the headunit, and from your post it sounds like all I'd need to do is reformat to fat32. Is there a specific 64gb SDXC card that this works with, or can I just get any one? And you are able to use all 64GB, right?
  3. My installer insisted on using the Pioneer HDMI cable, said that he wouldn't guarantee the work if he used anything else. The Pioneer cable is really cheap quality and developed a short in it within 3 weeks. It's gotten really bad now and AppRadio won't work. Can anyone recommend a good HDMI cable? I'm going to go back to my installer and make him put in a decent one.
  4. Agreed. Using Waze through AppRadio is the only useful routing option, though using it is a whole other set of headaches. Ahh the pains of being early adopters of new technologies
  5. I've had the same frustration. I'm pretty sure that you're limited to AppRadio music options like AppRadioLIVE and CarMediaPlayer while using Waze.
  6. 1.08 also fixed the keyboard issue from 1.06! That was my biggest complaint, that the keyboard had become very unresponsive. I'm actually very grateful that Pioneer resolved this quickly.
  7. Sounds like I'm not the only one here that bought the NEX for Carplay, waited with anticipation for the firmware update, updated, and then disabled Carplay. Ohh well. The best navigation that I've gotten is Waze through Appradio, but it seems to only work when it wants to work. Seriously it's about 50/50 whether it chooses to connect or not each time.
  8. Yes the traffic routing is horrible. It once had me take the wrong freeway, get off after a mile, and turn around and merge back onto the right freeway thinking that would avoid some light traffic.

Your 8000 is reading the 64gb card? It's been reported on this forum that 32gb sd-hc cards are the highest capacity that will be read in the NEX. Which card to you have? If it works I'm buying one .
  10. Ahhh I was having the same problem and wondered why I had to set my guidance vol at ~3%... I also have an OEM amp that the NEX is plugged into. Makes sense. Are you getting the popping noise problem with the guidance? I muted mine completely because it sounds like a rock just hit my windshield every time the nav voice comes on. Also, yesterday all of my "favorite" and "history" destinations cleared out! This time no setup wizard glitch... they were just gone all the sudden . My home location is still programmed though.
  11. This same thing happened to me three times in the first two days I had the 8000nex. Hasn't happened since (it was installed exactly one week ago). The reset of the audible speed warning is the most annoying part.
  12. I was playing around with the NAV settings today and figured it out: Map->Settings->Navigation Map->Map Display->Day Map Color-> Select either "Easy Daytime" or "Jove Daytime" to get a blue navigation line. Same goes for the ->Map Display->Night Map Color settings. Yippee!
  13. Ahhh bummer. Ohh well, maybe I'll let Pioneer know just for kicks and giggles.
  14. Any other colorblind users out there having trouble with the maps color scheme? I'm used to systems that use blue to highlight the navigation route, and on my 8000nex it is light green (I think!) and blends in a bit with the color used for the other roads. Is it possible to change this? My genetic defect thanks you in advance
  15. I've been routed poorly more often than not. Part of the reason I got the 8000nex was because the nav system that came with my new forester was awful. So far this one is beautiful and smooth... though the OEM forester head unit with the XM traffic actually routed better. IMO nothing beats google maps for San Francisco traffic routing (or routing in general), so I could always mirror it from my iPhone. I'm also looking forward to trying out Apple Maps once Carplay launches, so hopefully that will have well implemented traffic routing. If the AVICSync internet traffic service ends up be
  16. Weirdest thing... I couldn't get the SD card to show up in the left column on OSX, so I used Parallels to switch over to Windows 7 and installed Mixtrax. It showed up right away in the left hand column after I got the OS to recognize the macbook's SD reader. Then I exited Parallels, went back over to OSX, and started up Mixtrax... SD card magically showed up in the left hand column! I had a different drive name too. I renamed "Removable Disk 1" to match the drive name just to be on the safe side. Everything processed and I haven't had a chance to play with it in the 8000nex yet. I'm wondering
  17. I just figured the same thing out on the 8000nex. The Folder Browse mode seems to be the only way to play things in order by track. It's a clunkier interface though. I just processed my SD card with the Mixtrax software (which was a pain in the rear but I got it done), so I'm interested to see if it reorganized things, or if it just added the BPM metadata.
  18. This just happened to me for the first time, and it was immediately after filling gas. I stopped, shut my car off, restarted and everything was normal. Had my 8000nex installed last Thursday, so I'm obviously new to the game. I asked the installer to ground the parking wire, but since I didn't witness it being grounded I have no idea what he actually did aside from the software bypass.
