  1. Place it as close to your mouth as possible. I have mine just above the drivers door, even with my mouth next to a grab handle.
  2. Turned out only to be a short in the mic wire
  3. I have the Z2, bypassed and with Toomey's HD/software updates (works great by the way). Unit has worked perfectly until now when the voice operation function stopped. The voice icon appears in the upper right hand corner of the screen. When I press it I get the "Please request voice command" message at the bottom of the screen as well as through the speaker. But when I give it a command it does nothing, as if the microphone is broken or disconnected. After a few seconds I get the voice command, "Please press voice command key to continue". I press the voice command key

  5. If you have amps make sure they are wired to go off with the ignition off. Disconnect the HU and have the dealer put a guage on the battery. It should show that it is draining w/o the HU and therefore something else is causing the trouble. Good luck
  6. Hey guys, I have a Z2 upgraded to the Z3 (thanks Garrett) and a new Iphone G3. I tried the Scosche passPORT and it will not charge the G3 with the Z series HD (and confirmed by Scosche). I'm using the CD_Ib100II Ipod adapter Has any tried Cablejive's converter on the Z2/3 and does it charge the IPhone G3? Any other suggestions to charge the G3 from the Z2/3? Thanks in advance for any input.
  7. I bought one and it also did not work. I checked with Scosche and they confirmed that it does not work with the Z series HU
  8. If you daisy chain tthem together does the Z2 still "see" the Ipod and the XM tunner as two separate sources? Can you toggle between the two in the AV Source Menu screen? Thanks
  9. The correct model number of the XM tunner is P920XM
  10. Hey Guys, Quick question for you. Where on the back of the Z2 is the connector for the IP-Bus cable coming from the XM tunner? The connector on the cable is blue. I can't find any connector on the Z2 that mates with that connector other than for the one I'm using to connect my IPod adaptor. thanks in advance for any advice.
  11. Have not seen this b4. I'm new to the XM Traffic. Is the map showing the roads are are reported on by XM Traffic? Thanks
  12. I would appreciate any input from those who have experience with using the XM Nav Traffic in the Seattle WA area. I am considering buying the XM tuner for my Z2 and I'm undecided as to whethter to get the one with or without the Nav Traffic. Thanks in advance for your input.
  13. I'm not aware of any volume control for the mic. I had the same problem until I moved the mic above the drivers door by the grab handle (FJ Cruiser). That moved the mic from 2 feet from my mouth to 1 foot and made all the difference.
  14. Hey guys any solution to this problem? Periodically when I am driving the bluetooth will kick in, mute the music , and I will hear one quiet phone ring. Then the music comes back on. It is as if the bluetooth is picking up someones phone as I drive by. Any one else notice this and is there a way to correct it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  15. Lets try that again... Sometimes when u update the software it turns off the rear cam option in the Systems Settings. Check and see if it is set to "off". If so just change it to "on".
  16. I'm not sure about the Z2 but the factory NAV on my Lexus GS has the ability to adjust the NAV for errors from the VSS. Hopefully someone on this forum will know how to make similar adjustments to the Z2
  17. The computer also tracks the road that u are on. So with no sat info the system will keep u on the road, the distance down the road determined by the speed sensor. My question is why not hook it up, it can't hurt, will improve the accuracy in many situations and someone on this forum has the same car you have and can tell u the easiest location to tap into the speed wire.
  18. Has anyone had success with a different mic? if so which one?
  19. Hey guys, Looking for suggestions to solve this problem. When I make a phone call using the Z2 I'm told by the other person that my voice volume is very low and that I sound distant I'm on Sprint using a Samsung model SPH-A900. The Z2 is installed in a FJ Cruiser with the microphone mounted on the A-pillar parallel and about 2 feet from my mouth. Any way I can increase my voice volume (without screaming) that the other person hears and is there anyway not to sound so distant other than mounting the microphone on the steering wheel which I don't want to do. Thanks in advan
  20. This caution warning appears on my rear view camera immage. Any way to get rid of it? By the way thanks to everyone who provided all the great info on this forum. I just finished installing the Z2 in an FJ Cruiser. Did the two-wire bypass and updated the software with the CD from Pioneer. Everything worked perfect the first time. I could never have done it without all the info you guys provided.
  21. I'm getting ready to install the Pioneer Z2 and I would appreciate any advise as to where to install the microphone. I'm looking for it to be effective without the echo that has been discussed in some of the threads , yet as unobtrusive as possible. My car is an FJ Cruiser Thanks in advance for any suggesttions.
