  1. excellent! now I just need to figure out if that mic you sent me a link to will work.
  2. Anyone know how much the following items cost? AVIC D3 GPS antenna CD-BTB200 microphone SIR-PNR2 antenna I had to strip out the stereo on my truck (was totaled) rather quickly before insurance took it away and didn't have time to thread the antenna cables out. Would like to buy some new ones so I can resell the unit.
  3. I had it playing it's own ringtone for a week or so, then it just stopped and goes silent when I have an incoming call. It seems pretty silly that phones these days can't send the ringtone via bluetooth. Hell when I hit accept on the screen I hear a split second of the ringtone through the vehicle's speakers. Seems like there would be a setting somewhere to allow you to hear it before you accept.
  4. I have an 04 Super Duty and my g/f's father has an 01 Excursion. We both have the D3 installed. The pre-05's are not a true double DIN so the install is not just an easy swap. His was installed at Circuit City and it sits kind of behind the dash trim. I shaved the top and bottom of the opening down with a file and used Best Kits BKFMK552 to mount it. And yes it is an 04 with the 05-07 lower dash panel installed. I upgraded the lower dash so I could have the upfitters with a factory look.
  5. I tried it in the on and off position and neither played any ring tone what so ever.
  6. There's an option in the function menu of the bluetooth telephone that says "Ring Tone" ON or OFF. What purpose does it serve if it doesn't play the ring tone from the phone? When I accept an incoming call and I hit the accept button, i can hear the ring tone for a second through the speakers.
  7. i guess i could mount the P9 or P90 vertical. does the D3 control P9 or P90 like the P6? I would assume so since it uses the IP-Bus.
  8. Not enough room in my F250 w/ power seats. The motor and track sits too close to the floor board.
  9. I loaded my contact list from my blackberry curve to my D3. The one thing I had to do was add a 1 to all my numbers as incoming calls have a 1 before them and without the 1 in the address book, the D3 shows it as an unknown number.
  10. I'd like to be able to have the POI search list be organized by distance instead of alphabetical. Also have an option to change the keyboard to a QWERTY type. Allow you to adjust each freq. in the EQ.

    AVIC D4...When?

i hope the nav system is updated. My two biggest concerns are when I enter a POI search, I'd like to have it list them by distance instead of alphabetically and I'd like to have a QWERTY keyboard.
  12. Sorry to thread jack, but I am considering the XDV-P6 and I was curious to know if it's worth the $500 price tag. Also the installation manual states that if the unit is installed over 30 degrees from horizontal the unit might not operate at its optimal level. I would like to mount it vertically in my center console, but if it's going to perform poorly then I'll look for another option.
  13. My Sirius sat. radio sounds kind of canny. I've tweaked the EQ so that it's not as noticeable, but compared to FM radio it's not as great. And it's really below CD quality, but that's expected.

    AVIC D4...When?

I'm anxiously waiting for the D4 release as well. I'll probably sell my D3 soon as the D4 comes out and I just bought my D3 lol.
  15. are you talking about the CD-R55? I purchased mine on amazon for $22 shipped. The seller some how sent me two so I got em for $11 each heh. Other than the basic track seek and volume buttons. These remotes don't do much. I guess they would do more on a DVD, but I had hoped to be able to switch to the map screen with it.
  16. I have a D3 w/ the BTB200. My phone is a Blackberry Curve. When I have an incoming call, the source automatically switches to the BT Phone and goes silent. My phone plays the ringtone through it's speaker, but not the vehicle's speakers. Other than that, I can make and receive calls fine. Is there some setting I need to adjust?

    Bluetooth for D3

I played around with my girlfriend's dad's D3 and the bluetooth audio synced up with my Blackberry Curve. I had to go into my phone's media player and start playing a song and I could skip through the tracks that were in the current playlist. However, it did not show any song information on the D3. cafagna, what phone and service do you have?

    Bluetooth for D3

Which bluetooth adapter is used for the D3? The CD-BTB200 or the ND-BT1? Can either stream audio via bluetooth? I was considering the Z2 but after seeing the D3's interface is a lot nicer now I'm thinking the D3 is the better route. Since I don't want to be swapping out the Nav disc all the time, I need to figure out what to do about external music sources. I have a BlackBerry curve and I can get a 6gb chip for it to load mp3s and play them through my phone if that's possible. I'd rather not buy an iPod as I'm anti-apple, but if that's my only option for external music choices I may have

    Considering a Z2

Damn why couldn't the thieves wait just a little longer..... Maybe I'll just buy a boring single din non nav unit until something better comes out.

    Considering a Z2

Well that sucks. I went to Circuit City and played with both the D3 and Z2. The D3's interface blows the Z2's away. If they could put the D3's software/firmware on the Z2 I'd buy it in a heartbeat. When was the Z2 released? Think there will be a Z3 that would match the D3's interface and features any time soon?

can you change the color of the buttons across the bottom? i'd like to have them match the ford green.

    Considering a Z2

Lol that's what I'm thinking. Just wanted to make sure I wont get a refurb or B-stock unit.

    Considering a Z2

Ok so now the insurance guy I've been talking to says I can take the cash out option (includes cost of units + installation fees) of $2242 or I can have them send me a AVIC-Z2 and a check for $121. I mentioned I'd found the Z2 for about $1500 from an online dealer. He said it must be a refurb as the actual dealer cost to purchase a Z2 is greater than that. I see a lot of people buying from sonicelectronix.com and would prefer to buy from there and use the leftover cash for addons and other stereo stuff, but I don't want a refurb or something that Pioneer won't warranty. Any thoughts?

    Considering a Z2

So my old Kenwood DDX-7015 w/ KNA-DV4100 navigation was stolen last week. The insurance will replace it with the Kenwood DDX-8019 w/ KNA-G510 navigation. I'm not really fond of the Garmin GPS look. They insurance can also give me the cash option of $1500 or something of the same value in a different brand. Right now the only options I can find are the following: Kenwood DDX8019 w/ G510 navigation Kenwood DNX7100 Pioneer AVIC-Z2 Alpine IVA-W205 w/ PMD-B200 navigation Eclipse AVN-5495 Other than the navigation features, the next important thing to me is bluetooth. I want to be a
