the z2 sync'd up with my sony ericsson beautifully, once i hoped in the car, it auto sync'd. ive now since changed cell phones. I managed to get it to sync up once. My bb bold is added to the cell phone list but seems like it cant sync up anymore. my speed sensor is hooked up and my system is oct 2007, 2.14 firmware, and 2 wire bypass. still works =/

2 wire works for 2.14 firmware. =)

thanx for all the info. the hack works on the latest firmware(2.14). the picture to the 2 wire bypass is just a little miss leading cuz the whole time we were looking for the big white connector, when in fact the connector itself is no bigger than 1/2 an inch wide.. other than that, everything works.

ill take pictures if i can. i think my installer said that all 3 connectors had full pin wire slots. so thats where ppl trying to do the bypass is having problems. the instructions say to look fo rthe 4 right side empty pin slots, but if they are all full, then it makes it hard to find.

my deck was labelled oct2007, so one of the newest ones. i went to pioneer to get the info to check what i had. so according to my decks info, i got the 2.14 update, which makes sense why the deck wouldnt let me update the firmware. im waiting for tuesday so my car audio installer can tryt he 2 wire bypass.

i think im in your shoes. my deck box says oct 2007. i tried to do the update and got the message on the screen that the cd-rom version was older than the version on the deck, and so could not update.

OK, i read as much as i could, but 39 pages is a lot to read! I just got my Z2 yesterday. had a great audio place install it. they even installed a toggle switch (suppose to emulate the ebrake). Im not sure if they did the 2 wire bypass, but i assume this is what they did. when i check the config on the deck, it says hardware verison feb 2007. the box the deck came in says oct 2007. i tried to do method 2, the software/firmware update, and when i did, it said it was an older version than the current one in the deck. the toggle, from what i can see, on the ON position, fr
