Oh, not just me then. After all the delays you'd think it would be a little better? I subscribed to the HD traffic. It seems to work ok. Now I've got used to pioneers navigation it's not working too bad. Having android auto I've the option of Google maps too. There is a rumour that WAZE may become compatible with AA. Maybe others such as Tomtom Go or Route 66 may follow.

Hi all. Can anyone advise. I have the avicsync app up and running on my phone. It's the Europe version. When I go to the Shop I have 'Map of Europe - Factory Package' and 'Map of Europe Latest Map Guarantee'. Now I've only installed the latter and the app seems to work OK. Only thing is the Latest Map says 'Licence Expired' and has a 'Renew' option. Press renew and I get error 101. Anyone know what that is all about - is it just a bug? Also, do we need to have both map packages installed on the phone? Both are quite large and eat a lot pf phone storage up? I'm currently downloading the Fac

The avic 77dab in EU is equivalent to the 8100nex and both support android auto. The 8000nex does not support android auto but does support apple car play. If I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me but is what I'm led to believe. Hope that helps.

Just downloaded the manual. Certain it wasn't there when I downloaded the firmware update.

I've not read the manual (why spoil the habit of a life time?) but think it'll work on more phones than listed. I've had it working on a 2014 Moto x and the current Moto x play. You may need lollipop and above though it probably hasn't been tested on Marshmallow. I'll have to see if I can find the manual as never saw it when I downloaded the app.
  7. I get this issue occasionally with an avic f77-dab. It's actually installed in an Isuzu d-max pickup. I've noticed that it could be timing issue. If I turn the key to acc then slightly hesitate to then start the truck it can then go into that long boot up/appear to be off and take a minute or so before it starts to boot proper. If I turn the key straight through acc to start it'll come on then off and then on again into boot without issue. If I turn the key to acc and hesitate longer so unit is half booted up it'll turn off as the engine starts and then come on again and start to boot agai

I should add that regards the download of maps on phone I'm given two sets to download, the original 2014 and updated 2015 ones both about 3gigs each for Europe. I only installed the latest as can't think k why you would want both sets? Plugging phone into USB 2 defaults to either android auto or avicsync depending on what you used last. To change to android auto tap the apps button on on the home screen and it'll offer to disconnect from avicsync. To switch from android auto to avicsync then tap the connected services button at bottom of map screen. You are then asked to disconnect f

I caved and gave it another go. The error I was getting forgetting Bluetooth pairing is down to android auto and not avicsync. My Moto X play still loses sd memory card occasionally when connecting phone to use avicsync. I've only downloaded the latest update map due to not having sufficient room on my phone. My map expires in a few days on the app but click the renew button and I get error 101. On the up side I can plan a route on the phone for now. I have an avic f77-dab. I think end of term report would say "buggy - probably could do a lot better"

Crazy is one word, I can think of a few others....

    AVICSync app

Thanks for that. If you drill down there you can find where the maps are, or at least seem to be. One option would be to delete Europe countries not required on the phone manually but that may upset the apple cart. In honesty I've got sick of avicsync on my phone and deleted it off. I noticed yesterday that when I switched the headunit off my phone grumbled that the sd card had been disconnected suddenly and the warnings that ensue. Sure enough the sd storage was gone until I rebooted. Did the same again today even though I only used android auto. Also had to re sync bluetooth as the phone

    AVICSync app

Yep, it looks like a cash cow to me. Can't help you with your map update problem. All I know is I bought an expensive nav unit and I only got 45 days of free map updates ... REALLY Pioneer?? I quite like the F77-DAB but can't help but think the nav part is an expensive add on. Google maps on Android Auto works very well except you are relying on the phone and downloading maps on the go. I know you can download the maps you want onto your device but looks hassle to me. I was using Tomtom Go on my phone and would be useful if they made it android auto compatible ..... I'll not hold my breath

    AVICSync app

I'm in the UK and have an F77-DAB. Got the avicsync app on my Moto X Play phone and associated with the nav unit. I had an issue in that as soon as I plugged the phone in via USB lead Android Auto jumped in which stops you accessing the phone to start avicsync. I think I pressed the connected services button on the map screen which disconnected android auto and was able to associate phone. Maybe plug in via USB port 1 would avoid android auto? First negative - My unit came with maps for Europe and needs to download the same onto phone which is a 3gb download and then there is latest map gu
