  1. Up and running. Not the smoothest process I've ever done. I'll chalk up the extra steps to having been impatient and installing the X-series firmware.
  2. Well, I got past that issue. Apparently I did not delete all of the files correctly on MyFlashDisk, as I did this again and copied my 2.0 backup and the V3 SD1 took off after re-boot. I ran into another problem that others have seen. After SD1 update, the "System Startup in Progress" message would not go away. I tried a bunch of stuff to no avail. Finally I just proceeded with the SD2 upgrade. The buttons below the "System Startup in Progress" message work, you just can't see them. Luckily I only had a couple letters on the keyboard I couldn't see, and guessed correctly at their location. SD2
  3. I received my upgrade from Pioneer yesterday. I downgraded my system from the X-series firmware by copying my V2.0 flash disk backup. I now have the following: Map Version: 1.000600 Version: 2.000000 However, the unit boots up and ignores the SD1 from the upgrade. I also tried upgrading to 2.006 and it blows right past that at boot as well. Help!
  4. O-k, I'm not very smart I guess. "for 3x version UC or EW" Is this for a US version?
  5. CNSD-100FM MAP update- AVIC-F90BT,-F900BT,-F700BT 1 $60.00 Shipped: 08/07/2009 1
  6. Just thought you might be interested in another, non destructive, way to remove the after market knob. I moved my F90BT to my new car, and didn't like the way the way the shiny silver knob looked. Since I now have steering wheel controls, I thought I might try just the factory knob for a while. If that doesn't work out, I may paint the silver knob. Instead of ordering a new factory knob, I put the original with the Hohl knob attached in the oven set at 200 degrees for 15 minutes. Be sure to remove the knob from the radio before trying this . After 15 minutes, hold the knob in a paper towel (
  7. If you have Metra's GMOS-LAN-01 GM data bus interface there is a small pot called Chime Volume Adjustment on the side.
  8. Or, you have another PBus accessory, like HD Radio, between your HU and XM, and it does not have power. CT's answer is more likely.
  9. Do a search for "flip flop" and you'll get a bunch of hits. Here is an example: http://www.cpemma.co.uk/flipflop.html Jim
  10. I am in Rochester (Penfield). I am by no means a pro installer, but have put aftermarket systems in most of my cars, including a D3 and F90BT. You might be surprised how easy installation has gotten with dash kits and harnesses. You may want to search for installation tips for your car (with any head unit), as many people post information regarding dash disassembly, mic and gps antenna placement, etc. At least be sure you know how to take your dash apart with marring (breaking?) anything. PM me if you would like. Jim

    Ipod Silent

I have not had this problem with my iPod. It plays fine automatically after a restart. I do have the same issue with Bluetooth, though.
  12. First - the preset issue is pretty well documented here as a "feature". I did have the same HD problem as you, but only once during install. I finished installing everything, buttoned up the dash and noticed HD was not working and XM had no audio. After a little troubleshooting I found the 2 amp fuse powering the HD unit had blown. No idea why, as I have it tucked under the dash on the driver's side. I replaced the fuse and have not had a problem since. I suspect you may have a loose power connection to your HD unit. BTW - you may want to add a Y antenna adapter.
  13. Ground is ground. It doesn't matter if they are separate or together. Mine are all grounded together on both my D3 and F90BT with no issue.
  14. Did you initiate the pairing from the phone or the Avic?
  15. I can take a picture and post it. I'll be out of town for the next few days, so won't be able to until Friday. The screen looks like someone turned the brightness and contrast up as high as possible. In daylight the screen image is very bright, with very little definition. And yes - in my climate (upstate NY) it is very difficult to keep the lens clean this time of year.
  16. Hello, I recently replaced my D3 with an F90BT and love it. The only problem I have is my rear-view camera is really washed out. The picture was crisp on the D3. I don't see any adjustment for this. Any ideas?
  17. Awesome work. I added to my system this morning. I really like the larger clock and the street address feature. Speed feature is cool too. The only feature that I could see to improve this would be the ability to touch the XM info bar (channel number, channel name) to cycle through artist and song title. Is this even possible? Thanks again!
  18. I'm guessing you only need the Bluetooth update. I tried that and it still didn't work, so I put all the update files on the SD. But it turned out that wasn't my issue. If I were you, I would go ahead and try it with the latest update. If you already have the phone paired, delete from both and then when you pair it with the F90 choose "pair from phone" and initiate the pairing from your flipshot. When you go to transfer your contacts, you will most likely need to initiate the process twice from the phone, as the first time disconnects the F90, and the second time re-connects and sends the cont
  19. Well, I finally got it to go. The only difference this time is when pairing the phone I selected "Pair from Mobile Phone". I'm not sure why that allowed it to work. It still took 2 tries but it finally went. I guess I'll find out what the secret was next time I need to synch. Maybe it was the chicken I sacrificed to the bluetooth gods?
  20. O-k, I went to the Pioneer web-site and found this information regarding the 2.0 FW update: Step 2 2-1. Download the Bluetooth firmware update Zipfile onto your computer. There are two choices: 1. 1. Most users should download the primary update file by clicking here. 2. If you use the Sony Ericson W300i or Samsung SGH-U900 phones, you need to download an alternative update file by clicking here. So, I downloaded the alternate (2.90) version and still no-go. If anyone has paired a similar phone, I would really appreciate a quick reply with how you accom
  21. O-k, still no go - so I'll give more detail.I've followed the directions in the F90 manual. When I get to the screen that says something like "send contacts from your phone, when done press o-k", I try to send either a single contact or all and the phone disconnects, then immediately tries to re-connect and comes up with screen that says "Failure in Connection". Very frustrating, as the major reason I upgraded from the D3 was the inability of the D3 to handle voice prompts. I started out with a Motorola bluetooth kit that worked flawlessly. I've gone backwards since then by spending more money
  22. O-k, I got my F90BT today to replace my D3. Install was fast, and pairing my phone was painless. However, I cannot for the life of me get the phonebook to transfer. I had no problem with the D3. The unit was updated by Pioneer with 2.0 FW and 330 BT FW. Any ideas? Thanks - Jim
  23. Yea - I bought from them too. It took almost 2 weeks to ship - but it is en route. I got my tracking number the other day. In their defense, they said they were waiting for updated units from Pioneer. But, at $650 plus 10% eBay coupon, plus 25% Microsoft Live Cashback, it is probably worth the wait ($422.50 Net for an F90BT).
