you can wire it to the backup lights "usually white" that illuminate when in reverse. If you do this, it should automatically turn on the reverse camera while backing up.

use the thumb joystick instead of the normal skip buttons. mine works that way.

did you register the phone after it's been connected? most of the time my iphone works great, sometimes it takes a few min to autoconnect. the phonebook and log do not work for me, however the battery and signal bars do.

can i ask what install kit you used? i have an 06 and it looks identical. My installer used an A.I. kit, and it left a big gap.
