  1. Is the Z1's VSS wire long enough do you think? How long is it? PS. Posted in wrong section ( N1/N2, oops,)
  2. Learned much from this helpful forum. Its almost finished and is now going to be molded so the outside will be smooth black plastic. Now, I just have a question, My TSX is a NON-Navi model so in the PCM, there is a pin for the VSS Wire but no wire is present. How do I connect the VSS wire from the Z1 to this Pin? Will I have to buy some wires or can I use the existing wires from the Z1? I'm just not sure if its long enough to reach the PCM pin connectors in the footwell on the passenger side which this VSS pin is located.

  4. What do you guys think about the Z2 software update and its effect on our BYPASS? *If you already have the post june unit with the bypass.
  5. I got my CD in the mail too. I didnt request for the CD though. Looks like they automatically mailed it out to recent Z1 owners. I haven't installed my Z1 yet because I'm waiting for my custom headunit being made.
  6. Do you happen to have a BMW M3 by any chance? Ron from Streeteffectz told me this happened too!
  7. Sorry to hear about that.....Do you not recommend the screen protectors after this experience?
  8. Thanks Ducatiboy. I was kind of concerned what a March 06 unit would be like with a connector 2 bypass without the update cd. Will keep you guys up to date on my Custom headunit project! Its going very well!
  9. I have a March 06 unit. I'm installing this is my 05 acura TSX in about 3 weeks or so. Do you guys think it is ok to do the connector 2 bypass before installing the cd update? Or will it not make any difference in which order it is done?
  10. Bottom Line= Need PRE-July 06 units to use the update disk and THEN do the connector 2 bypass to see if it works. *crossing Fingers*
  11. But the screen is bigger on the Z1 and isnt the NAVI better on the Z1 as well?
  12. So isnt the problem the MIC? not the Bluetooth? I'm thinking the callers hear echo from their own voice because the MIC is OVER-sensitive and is picking up the callers voice from the Car's speakers. Has anyone tried blocking the MIC partically with something? like black electrical tape?
  13. So the AVIC wont let the phone just ring for some time? Can someone chime in if there are settings that allow the incoming call to just ring for sometime and not auto-answer? Thanks.
  14. I shall post pics after the install! Wish me luck.
  15. Hi Ducatiboy, My name is Sung and am a relative new member to the avic forum. I plan to purchase an AVIC Z1 soon. But plan to modify it a bit. I own an Acura 2005 TSX and the headunit is neither a single DIN or a double din. So as a result I am going to get a custom headunit made. Because there is no space behind the headunit for a Double DIN unit to fit. only the screen can be retrofitted on there but the drive is placed in the lower compartment tray so a extended wire is made custom. 16. Now the magic question, Is there a way to find out which ones which by looking at the box for the Z1? I am planning to purchase one very soon and now very concerned about the apparent fix to the bypass. Can anyone else concer with the new fix? :x
