When you look at the wires of the lighter there will be three wires two of them thick and one thin. the thin wire is for the little light that illuminated the lighter. you can tap into the thick wires and your good, if you have a mulit- meter you can check +/- Good luck

Ok i have the GEX-5700tv tuner installed on my D2 but when i go to install the sirius tuner my unit will not recognise it being there i have tried several diff configurations but i plug the bus cable from the outut on the sirius tuner to the bus in on the tuner and that is all correct???

Ok this weekend I am going to bypass my unit D2. I want to take Step by step Photos and Post it on here for hte D2 and my friend is installing the Z1 I wil also do step by step photos on that. Now for the D2. I understand that all you do is ground the parking break wire and you should be good. But why move the other wire to the unused pin? If you already have the break wire grounded what is up with the diagnositc wire ground then? is this part of the upgraded lockout feature??? I want to do a big thing on this and make it a sticky.... Can I just run the Parking brake wire to the Ground wire in the harness. would that not do the same thing???

Hello all, Thank you for this great Forum. I just bought a Avic-D2 with a GEX-P5700TV tuner with a ND-BT1 bluetooth adapater and a SIR-PNR2 sirius unit. I can not wait to install all of this. I just bought a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T and felt the car was worth it. Engine mods will come later. I bought the Metra dash install kit 99-9011 and the Antenna adapter. I have not yet pulled the factory headunit out to check the wiring harness but I assume they are all the same. When I ordered the harness for some reason or another I as told that it was a Best Kits Number BHA8590 that is for 91 & UP BM
