1. ..... That's even worse IMO. Why would the colors swapping back and forth make you think the unit is faulty?!?!!? And not once or twice... but four times. "What a coincidence" And why you would rewire the harness again and again despite knowing it would have no impact on a problem such as that.... I have no clue.
2. I've installed many-a-D3's, but don't have a ton of time playing with them. During initial setup, I have wondered this same thing. There has got to be something about this in the manual....
3. I've only seen this one time. AND IT WAS YESTERDAY on an N2! When we bench tested it before installing, it came up with that alert. No biggie I think. (Obviously because the wire isn't connected to anything) But then the alert continued after installation. I'm positive I hooked up the parking brake wire to the correct wire on the parking brake. Video even displays fine with parking brake engaged...... so I'm stumped. PS. I'm not attempting any type of bypass. My job is more important than some random shmuck's "wants". PPS. And $100 cash doesn't even come close to changing my mind.....l
4. For anyone reading this, this is not only with Nissans. It is common practice, when you disconnect an airbag switch because you're disassembling the dash, DO NOT cycle ignition. If you must, hold the dash piece up to the dash just enough to snap the airbag harness back into place. Proceed as needed. Will it trip an airbag light in EVERY car? I am positive it will NOT. But I doubt anyone has every car that's safe memorized....
5. I recently had a customer come in complaining about this exact same thing. I told him that is just a "wallpaper" or "background", then showed him how to change it step by step. Even after the background had been changed, he REFUSED to believe me that there is nothing wrong with his D3. "Well you just can't see the lines now because it's not a totally black screen." ..... He leaves pissed, and there's nothing I can do about it other than tell him to read his owners manual.
6. $632 SHIPPED for the D3X package after rebate from amazon.com I have verified with two associates from Pioneer that, regardless of the seller, any purchase through Amazon.com will be eligable for the rebate. They both answered without hesitation and both took it upon themselves to continue and tell me they realize amazon will take you through a "no-name third party" for the purchase. As long as you originally purchased through Amazon, you're good. I felt safe in my purchase.
7. pardon my ignorance, but what is the torrent file linked above then? EDIT: Ahhh, I see. Nevermind then. lol
8. Here's one for us RX8 owners..... ANYBODY HAVE ANYMORE? This thread is too MASSIVE to search through. The search feature turned up zilch.
9. I'm a new owner of a D3. How would I know if I have the newest discs out? Also, any other torrent to download? Works on the D3?
10. Circuit City now has the D3 for $699 installed. To say this again, they are NOT eligible for the $200 rebate. Still a friggin steal for those needing the labor too. However many online sources are infact authorized. Call Pioneer if in doubt. I did and am 100% authorized my rebate. Getting my D3X package for under $600 shipped after rebate.
11. lol Didn't think many people read the Welcome section. But money is still not an issue. If the HDD units are faster, have the same # of POIs AND give me 10G on onboard music storage....it's a no brainer. Thank you for your help. You seemed to have hit on everything i needed to know.
12. I'd like to know if the speed of navigation is faster with the HDD units(such as Z2) or the DVD based units(such as D3)? Also, do both units have the same amount of Points of Interest? Are updates easily obtainable for both style navi units? What if I replace the HDD in the Z2 with a 5400RPM drive? Will it now be as fast/faster than a DVD based unit?
13. Looking to install a Z2 in my RX8 within the next month. Had a couple questions and I'm sure they will all be answered on this forum. First and foremost, I'd like to know if the speed of navigation is faster with the HDD units(such as Z2) or the DVD based units(such as D3)? Also, do both units have the same amount of Points of Interest? Are updates easily obtainable for both style navi units? What if I replace the HDD in the Z2 with a 5400RPM drive? Will it now be as fast/faster than a DVD based unit? As you can see, the navigation feature is the most important thing to me. Music stora
