  1. Not sure if anything has changed, but the .rar that I downloaded from THIS server for EAST was incorrect. Unrared it was around 4 gigs, which is incorrect. I downloaded the torrent version which unrared is around 7.41gb, burned it with Nero 9 (Magic Iso apparently didn't want to burn it correctly) and it worked perfectly. Used Memorex DL. Is the east on this server, correct now? The rar files seems to say 3.4gb, even compressed that is STILL too small. Winrar doesn't compress past (or even close) to half the file size...so I think the EAST one is still incorrect on this server.
  2. Odd. Burnt the disc with MagicISO, *burn cd\dvd* and burned the ISO files to a DVD. Put it in, reading..readding...error reading format on the D3. This is with the larger .rar file, ISO. Whats the deal?
  3. Magiciso....sounds like all you are doing is taking the file and burning the exact same file to a disc. Not unpacking it THEN mounting it to a DVD-Dual Layer. *Edit* welp, now I'm pissed. At 75% done the download stopped and failed. Tried to redownload, and the pass\login the FTP has been changed. *Update* Kept copying and pasteing the login, apparently the FTP glitches and seems to think the login\pass is incorrect, when it is in fact, correct. If you get wrong pw\username error input it in a a few more times. I'm dling the .RAR and .ISO, as I don't see why exactly the .ISO is SMALLER tha
  4. Meh. My 5.5 gen after I'd say 6-7 months of being in my glovebox for use as the music HD for my D3, is finally going berserk. After the past week I have had to do a complete *restore\format* on it 5 times just to get it to NOT randomly freeze up when browseing on the D3. Once that happens you have to unplug it as a apple logo is present, and do a hard-reset. Very, very annoying >.<. I'm wondering what'll happen if i take it the Apple store...I'd rather have it REPAIRED than REPLACED with a new 6gen..
  5. xD! Woot! Thanks man, great work! Nice FTP speeds too, went all the way up to 950 kbit\s but then seemed as if the FTP server has a speed cap, knocked i down to a steady 700\800 Kbit\s. Fantastic speeds though, better than torrenting And with everyone asking, the ISO file is a packed file. When you burn it to a DL-DVD, it will unpack and format to the disc, thus ending up around 7-8 gigs. I will say that the WEST disc is a bit bigger. I believe the ISO for the East is about....2.9 gigs (in ISO form, not burnt). Where as the WEST is about 3.58 gigs. Though I believe the states the west
  6. Or...one guy could just like...buy it and put it up on torrent and become the "Legendary God of 08 Pioneer Maps" I'm talkin' east AND west here, not just west.
  7. Hm...all the needed facts that discredit him. Well done . I don't see why he came to a thread that was clearly going to be ABOUT getting the updates for free, just to act like *well why would anyone want these for free...* and try to justify the price. When you see a thread that says *Torrent* and you see people already loving the one person for uploading it and seeding it like mad, then you know the PEOPLE that are going to be in here, clearly aren't going to pay the $$$ for the map upgrade. FYI, the 07 Maps SUCKED. My beach house up at Watercolor FL has been there for FOUR YEARS, waterc
  8. Wow. Didn't know people were going to that high of lengths to annoy people. I think at max I pm'd like TWO people for the password since I missed the *edit* of it lol. I mean what is torrent, do I need winrar for it? will I go to jail for it? wait, what is .uif? magic iso, whats that? whats magic and what is an iso? torrent program, is that something that uses torrents?
  9. Something tells me the DVD's will be up on torrent, before someone starts selling them for 15$ on ebay.
  10. Oh, thank god I didn't load this after burning it and went back and re-read the thread. I'm in Georgia so I need East . I'll continue seeding, but why did the customer only get the WEST dvd?
  11. Thanks. Are people burning with with a DVD-R or Dual Layer DVD? It keeps telling me that 4.7gigs is too small of a disc when the .UIF is only 3.4 gigs...do you really need a DL DVD?
  12. Uh, why exactly did someone pass-word encoded the magiciso file? What's the pass? Thanks in advance.
  13. Hm. I'm going to buy some cheap rcas and run them over the seats and see if the noise goes away...I'll be damned suprised if all 3 sets of my stingers are bad, but we'll see. I guess if that fails then I'll pick up a rca kit for the iPod, only OTHER thing I can think of is putting power filters on ignition and consistent... :-\
  14. So uh...not to be totally supportive...but who's ripping this sucker?
  15. Why would someone buy the first batch of a completely newly designed headunit? O.o lesson learned I guess. I know my local store said they were holding off on the first two batches (selling wise) because they have had problems with them and they were sent back to Pioneer for fixes, mainly software issues.
  16. Is it the iPod VIDEO for sure? Aka 5.5 generation? Or the NEW iPod classic? I know the new iPod classics have a authorzation chip that can cause headaches and often render the device useless with the D3...the 5.5g video should work fine, mine does.
  17. Did it....and it INCREASED my noise dramatically. It sounds like it's amplifying the D3's fan through the speakers or something. Why exactly WOULD it do this? I did it exactly like you said, cut splices, wrapped around, electrical tapped, then the two lead wires I crimped together on a ring terminal and used one of the d3 screw spots to ground it there. This seems to make it bring in noise EVEN WITH the car is only on ACC, where as the way it was before (and is now since I took out the ground) it only makes noise when the car is on. What's going on? Another thing to mention, when the
  18. Excellent. Thanks. One more thing...in the past I blew a D3 because I BELIEVE either a RCA fell out and hit metal, or the white and blue touched...the sound was the usual BRRRR whine and when you turn everything off it thumped. I don't want that happening again. So just so I'm positive about this, wrapping the same ground wire around white and red, is NOT going to bridge a connection between them and make them fubar my headunit right? I can't even FIND another D3 right now so I don't want to even remotely risk it. Oh, and one more thing, before doing this on all six channels, is it safe to
  19. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back. I redid the D3's ground w\ 12 gauge (cut and spliced) and ran it through my firewall and grounded it to the metal frame next to the battery (after sanding down, this is also where my PIAA lights and what not are sanded) but I still have the same noise. So I'll be doing this today, one question, can this SOLVE alternator whine? I mean can the D3 actually bring that whine into the system when it's grounded right, simply due to Pioneers crappy rca solders? Also, what are using to get the rest of the wire wrap off of those inch spaces? When I'm generall
  20. 07 Fj Cruiser..so not old. And just so I know, by grounding the rcas you mean wrap it around each shield and then ground it to the D3's chasis? It'd be easier to ground it to the mounting bracket and since those are bolted to the d3 chasis I'd think that would work too...I'll try this tomorrow. The main thing is I don't want to fry the rca ground on the inside of the D3...I'm going to get an example of the sound it puts out. I notice our D3 is nothing like that unit you pictured. We can't ground directly to the D3 rca inputs since the harness has them externally...so I guess we just ground
  21. Ok. From day one I've had alternator whine and this weird "static" interference. It's not speaker noise, since its not present when the car is on acc and the engine is not on, but it is when the engine IS on. Today I decided screw the factory ground and spliced the ground wire on the D3 and turned it into a 12-gauge and went straight to the negative terminal on the battery...no difference at all. The amplifiers, (two PDXS) and a matrix line driver, I re grounded on the chassis with the JL Master Lug (sanded down to be shiny metal, bolted on, then spray painted over to prevent rust) and I still
  22. I have an AVIC-D3, and when I accelerate I get a alternator whine and when the car is dead silent you can hear crackling sounds coming out of the speakers when the vehicle is on. I running two PDX amplifiers and a infinity kappa speakers in the dash, rear, and door. I have no clue what this good be....I used the factory ground on my FJ Cruiser, could this be it? I asked a high-class stereo shop about grounding the RCAS and they said the D3's have been known to actually blow the rca-inputs or something along those lines if you do that. What would be a better ground? My amplifiers are groun
