  1. Ya, I found it yesterday. Oddly I see other warning settings... like alert at 75% of speed limit? wth? someone had too much time on their hands when programming the alert section.
  2. I pulled the trigger on removing my hacked Avic-z110bt (software hacked to be a z120 or maybe z130 unit) and bought the AVIC-8100NEX from CarAudioGiants.com My setup; Ford 2009 F150 Lariat SuperCrew Avic-8100nex (from CaraudioGiants.com) idatalink- Maestro-RR (from Amazon.com) Idatalink -f01 wire harness (from amazon.com) SiriusXm module (from Amazon.com) First task was to calmly sit and wire up the wire harness from the radio kit to the Maestro wire harness kit. To do this, go to the iDatalink-maestro site, pick you car and radio and all details. It will GIVE you a wire schem
  3. Confirmed the soft bypass works on the AVic-8100nex. Mfg date Feb 2015. No need to ground the parking break. My setup; Ford 2009 F150 Lariat SuperCrew Avic-8100nex idatalink- Maestro-RR Idatalink -f01 wire harness Carplay and android auto both work fine.(I have two phones.)
  4. Yes please share the list and vendor source. I see SonicEletronix has the 8100NEX for $919. But Crutchfiled (authorized) has it for $1299 after $100 MFR rebate. Which one to go to?
  5. I'm thinking of selling my z120-130 w/ bypass unit. What's a decent selling price? and where to sell?

    AVIC-8000NEX

Woot!!!... post #1 !! It looks like the NEX is not running Windows CE like their older units, but some flavor of Android. How else could the get away with no royalty payments. The NEX case looks to be very similar to the AVIC-Zxxx models but maybe with a large lower "lip". Good to see they stuck with a design that works. However. the MSRP at $1400 is way too steep. Cant wait for it to hit the grey market and get it for way less. I'm hoping the same bypass is available for the NEX line. I've enjoyed my AVIC-Zxxx that I upgraded to a z150, or was it a z180. I've forgot. Ev
  7. I was successful in getting the hacks installed and the firmware. but NOT the free Pioneer 2.0 update. The unit doesn't even attempt to update. Any ideas?
  8. I tried the First update... no dice. No update. Fat32, copied the files as described. I did find that if i have the z110 look at the SD card for audio it finds some sample WAV files. So i know it can read it fine. advice?
  9. Actually their is no more problem. Never was really... i just did not understand my wiring options. Since the SYNC needs a volume control, the steering wheel control is currenly set for SYNC. If I either set a switch and change my wire it will control the Z110BT. Since the VR (voice recognition) engine of the Z110bt is not what i expected and problematic, the sync works fine. oh, and at 5000miles, my SYNC sends me a vehicle health report.
  10. My new in the box CDX-P686 (bought over a year ago for my AVIC-N2 but never opened) does not seem to be recognized by the Z110BT. The IPbus is connected, I can eject the cd-cartrige. ideas?
  11. Maps outdated? I got got rid of my old AVIC-N2 that I upgrdaed to the -80m DVD maps. It DID have correct downtown BOSTON roads after the massive Big-DIG. But Now I have the Z110BT and the maps dont show the existing roads that are 10 YEARS OLD NOW! Why is this? I have not confirmed with all major roads, but I am a bit disappointed.
  12. That worked! Thanks! The manual doesn't even show that tip.
  13. The Sync module is NOT part of the head unit. It located under above the headunit. Oh and in a F150 Lariat, I have a unique multi line LCD screen that displays Outside temp, Driver side climate control temp, Pasenger side control temp, Direction (N,E,W,S) as well as Vehicle health report menus, Bluetooth options, Phone menus, contacts etc. When the head unit is plugged in, it will display Sirius data, AM/FM stations, Multi CD changer etc. In the F150 Platinums or Lariats that have the OEM Nav from SONY, all the above is displayed on the NAV itself and the LCD screen is not present.
  14. I dont see ANY option to create the shortcut screen. I'm stuck with the classic screen. Please help.
  15. OK I found out what I did. I used the Axxess AFSI-02 kit for my wiring. It had me conenct the mute wire to one of its wires and not ground. So late (very late) last night, I ripped opent he dash and cut that mute wire and spliced it into a ground wire. BUT, even though the bypass is now working, I have a strange issue; When my I start my Ford F150 Lariat 2009, the new Z110BT starts normally, splash screen, plays audio from its last connected source. Great. Then my Ford SYNC starts up and announces its usual "911 Assist is currently set to off". BUT, then the Z110BT unit reboots and re
  16. Um... yeah you CAN RETAIN FORD SYNC. Repeat after me... RETAIN FORD SYNC. RETAIN FORD SYNC. What you need from SonicElectronix.com is the Metra Axxess AFSI-02 unit. That what I use now. I also use the PAC SWI-PSv1. The Metra SWI is actually a repackaged PAC SWI-PS. Oh and dont forget the Chrystler antenna adapter. Really.
  17. Both Yellow and parking brake are grounded. I suspect that the moved yellow wire in the harness is not making contact.
  18. I moved the wire in the harness over one spot. I grounded the parking brake line. Many functions are still unavailable when moving. I also get a waring message at startup that states the parking brake wire is not properly installed (or something to that effect). Any ideas?
  19. I should be getting audio on channel 1 of the XM receiver I get none. I have not yet transfered my old XM account over to this unit. But I should still get the "sign up for XM" advertisements on channel 1. btw, go to fatwallet.com to get XM at 50% off for the year. seach for XM radio.
  20. I too am having an issue with the PAC SWI-PSv1 (from Sonic) I connected and follow the instructions. On my F150, the Volume and next/prev track do not work. I also installed the Metra Axxess AFSI-02 kit to restore SYNC. So my Media/Phone buttons on the streeing wheel still work through sync. Any help please?
  21. When I start up the car and the tuner is on XM radio, i will see and hear XM for about 30 seconds. Then Check Antenna displays. I have verified and have been able to reproduce it over and over. Antenna is fine. IF I pull the power plug on the XM unit, and plug it back in I get the same results. WTF! I have been running this Avic-N2 with XM for almost 3 years!
  22. I called Pioneer. They want me to send it in, but also mention the $200 repair if needed. Before I send in the head unit and the brain, what is the minimum I need to test on the bench? 12v power that's all right? Will it power without speakers?
  23. My AVIC-N2 this past week started to power down and reset a few times while driving. Then suddenly Friday, when I would start the car, the unit would show the blue power lights as it normally would, extend the screen, flip up and then shut down all lights off. The unit would respond by cylcing through a power shutdown, startup when I pressed the reset button. Same if I removed and replaced the removable face plate. Is this due to bad flex cable? Will they fix free it since I bypassed it? What are the chances of me fixing it myself? Where to get the part?
  24. What are the differences between the N2 and N3? Externally it al looks 100% the same. Can the firmware of the N2 be upgraded to the N3? Any more details?
