  1. it's an easy install even if you aren't a professional. http://jasonhilton.us/d1/ JasonH is the admin that's a site with some pics of his rustang.
  2. There's a lot of mark up on that piece. That's why the price difference. As for the other stuff, just read the directions of the gmos and you'll be fine.
  3. I don't know have you tried searching, I know our forum admin had a d1 in his old rustang. I'm sure there's pics here somewhere.
  4. it's an imperfection in the way the interface was programmed. not much you can do short of running the illumnination wire of the avic to the parking light wire in the vehicle. It's brown at the bcm in the driver's kick.
  5. Change the power antenna setting from radio to source. Check the manual on how to do that. Or disconnect the blue wire of the wire harness you bought from the blue wire of the avic and reconnect it to the blue/white wire of the avic. Common problem. Pink vss wire would be connected to the blue/white wire at the cruise control module under the driver's side dash.
  6. Could just turn the gains on the amp all the way down. Then turn the volume up on the avic until you hear distortion. then back it back down until the distortion goes away. Of course this should be done with asong your very familiar with so you know when it's distorting. Oh and it's best not to use hiphop/rap as that tends to be very extreme on it's swings.
  7. It'll fit fine. The kit you need is a 95-5026. As for bypassing the amps, you can if you want to. But you don't have to. If you get a 70-5519 you can get away without bypassin the stock amps. The only thing you'll want to do is put a 2.4k ohm resistor on the amp turnon lead to prevent turn on thump.
  8. Your problem with the xm status is a common one. It depends on which tuner you have. GEX-XM10T - will say that if the data cable is bad or not connected. GEX-P910XM - Will always say that since it lacks the data cable required to send the information to the avic TERK XMD1000 & XMDPIO110 combo - Again will always say that since it lacks the data cable to send the infor to the avic.
  9. it should go into the one marked ipbus output.
  10. put the ipbus cable in the other port of the btb200. That give you sound?
  11. a bit much considering a brand new one is the same price or less depending on where you get it.
  12. You'd have to find the poi information that doesn't pertain to where you are locaated. Then delete that and hope the avic doesn't have heartfailure because some of the data is missing. insider?
  13. If you look at the stock radio, you notice how it slopes downward from the top of the face to the back. Well that would be the shape of the bracket. If you don't see it when you take the radio out, then the previous owner did you a favor and took it out already.
  14. Me too me too, I'm going on my honeymoon next week wanna finish my dash for me now?
  15. And make sure you're sitting in front of the unit playing with it while going through the manual it'll help.
  16. 99-5805 with some cutting of the dash and trimming of the kit. Makes it fit fine.
  17. And how many miles is alot. If it's less than 100 then don't be surprised it's not working yet. It takes miles NOT hours of driving.
  18. Use an rca to mini cable and hook it up to the aux input on the back of the d3, or use a mini to mini cable and hook it up to the aux input on the front of the d3.
  19. The top and bottom lips of where the stock radio mounts. You;ll also have to remove the metal rail behind the radio.
