If the USB Ddevice is already plugged in try unplugging and plugging it back in after the AVIC is booted up. Mine will not recognize the USB Drive if I already have it plugged in. This happened after 2.0 update.

Mine does the same thing after the update.

You don't need that hub You be able to connect a HD direct to the USD port, that it will work fine like mine you can put one until 160 Gb HD at least. Nope, USB is limited to 2 Gb apparently That is incorrect. I use an 8gig usb flash stick without issue.

Now that we know for sure the F series is running windows CE and we also know that the Nav software is iGO from MiTac. I wonder if this unit is capable of running Garmin Mobile XT in addition to or instead of iGO.

Mine transfered the address book without issue.

If you do a search I believe you will find the screen res is something like 800x480 try that. It is actually one of the highest resolutions screens in a unit of this type.

I just called Pioneer as well and once again they do confirm that they are aware of the problems plaguing the F series and assured me there is no recall. They also stated there will be a fix available as a downloadable CD. I called because as I type this the AVIC is on my bench and I have been playing with it for a week. I have a BMW and needed some parts in order to do the install so I figured why not give it a good workout before it even goes in the car. They could not give an ETA for the patch download but assured me it is coming.

When I had mine on the bench doing some testing I had that happen to me. I did not have the parking brake wire hooked to ground. Oh mine is an F90BT if that matters.

How can this be acceptable to anyone? A minute before the "radio" in a car starts working? I have windows machines that boot more quckly. Unfortunately I think you may have just nailed it. I am wondering if this radio is a Windows CE device.

Is the fact that bluetooth on the F-series is provided parrot documented anywhere? I would like to read up on it if you can provide a link.
