  1. I can only think of one reason why someone would cut the RCA's off of the back of a Z2. They were in one hell of a hurry to get the unit removed from the vehicle. I'd take it back to the guy and get your money back if you can't get the harnesses on ebay. Im not sure if the n3 or d3 harness will work, but if it looks the same give it a shot.
  2. I realized my 2 year old Z2 no longer plays cd's and dvd's yesterday evening. I have probably used the player around a dozen times. I use my iPod and Sirius radio 99% of the time. I discovered this last night when my daughter wanted me to play some cd for her. First thing I did when I got home was ran the cd/dvd cleaner. No luck what so ever. It just attempts to read the disc for about 1-3 minutes and then gives me the "unreadable disc" error. I tried dvd's and cd's, burned and store bought. So this morning I figured I would uninstall it and see what I could figure out. 50% of
  3. As previously stated, make sure the reverse wire is connected correctly. If the reverse wire was set to receive a ground signal to trigger the backup screen, and that wire was left loose behind the dash. Every time that wire comes into contact with a ground your screen will change. Just a thought. I had this happen to me with a mute wire on an older radio I had.
  4. I would start with checking the wire that senses reverse. I don't recall what type of signal it receives (ground or 12v). If it's not getting either, it's not going to change the screen when you reverse. Just remembered, somewhere in the settings you can also change the way it receives the signal that your vehicle is in reverse. If it was me, I would see if it was set to + or -. Then I could find that wire, remove it and hook a corresponding source.
  5. 1. I've installed mine into an 07 Silverado 2. I can control my Z with my steering wheel controls with an adapter I got from PAC 3. Your XM will work if you buy the XM radio for the Z, and your onstar will work if you buy the correct install adapter. 4. Not sure about this question. Can you listen to music and play a dvd in the Z that's displayed in the rear? No. Your rear TV will need it's own source. Can you play a DVD in the Z and have it playing in the rear at the same time? Yes. Pac-audio.com is where I got all my adapters, check them out.
  6. I get the same pop and echo in my 07 Silverado. No clue on how to fix it the pop. I think we have to live with the echo. I have my front right speaker set for the phone audio and the mic is in the same location GM installs theirs. It's a give and take deal, I can't hear the caller so I increase the volume which in turn increase the chance of echo. Unless someone else has a solution, I am considering going back to the parrott. One more thing, some suggested changing the mic will fix the echo, not true. Im using the mic that came with my parrott (which worked great) and it still
  7. I don't know if this will help or solve anyone's problems but here it goes. For the last month the volume down button on the steering wheel in my 07 Silverado (non classic) has been working intermittently. The volume up button would sometimes stick, the mute button rarely ever work, and sometimes the source would change even though I didn't hit the source button. First thing I did was take it to the dealership and had them replace the steering wheel controls. That didn't fix it. Then I emailed PAC for help. During our emails I discovered a service bulletin for the wiring harness
  8. I am starting to experience the same problem, except I do not have whining. I have had my Z2 for one year now and the left side is not as loud as the right. It's the whole left side; front, rear, and subwoofer output. I have my installed in an '07 Silverado. I have not torn the dash apart to check wiring. I don't believe it's the wiring due to the fact that the problem exists on the whole left side. I am using the Z2 to power the front and rear stock speakers and the sub is obviously powered by an amp. Any suggestions?
  9. Phone rings while I am driving and i cringe Why? Because I know when I answer it there is a 50% chance that I am going to hear a loud POP through the car speakers. Anyone know anything about this?
  10. I dont belive it's the mic, it's somthing else. This is why I believe this: Before I got the avic-z2 I had the parrot 3200LS in my chevy silverado with the mic mounted in the overhead console next to the onstar mic. The parrot unit works great, no echo. I Then purchased my Avic-z2 and instead of re-pulling the mic wire I just REUSED the parrot mic in my pick-up. Finally I installed the parrot kit into my Fiancee's Honda Accord WITH the mic that came with the pioneer bluetooth unit. Results: It echo's in my pickup, but not in her car. Therefor I believe it's not the mic that is cau
  11. I have the Z2, CDIB100II, and 32gig Ipod touch. All works well.

    USB adapter

Excuse me if this is a stupid question, but I cannot find a answer or I am searching incorrectly. I just got my Z2 and I cannot figure out how to hook up a usb thumb drive with mp3's to it. Do I need the CD-IB100II to do this? or is it iPod only?
  13. From the instruction manual of the Z2 it says "Violet/white (REVERSEGEAR SIGNAL INPUT) This is connected so that the navigation system can detect whether the vehicle is moving forwards or backwards" pg14 Where did you find this wire at in your Silverado? Or is that the wire you connected back at the spare tire? The reason I ask this is because that wire in you picutre looks to be blue and white and I really dont want to run one wire all the way back there just for a reverse signal. There has to be a wire somewhere under the dash to get this signal.
  14. Ebay seller zooquest is selling new Z1's for $620, not refurbished units, NEW! Sounded like a great deal so I did my homework. This seller during a months time will sell 700 items, all ending in dollar amounts from .50 cents to 15 dollars. At first glance zooquest looks like a good ebay seller with 99.1% feedback, not so. What they are doing is this; zooquest will sell stereos, cameras, other electronics for over $600 claiming that the items are drop shipped from another location and it will take 3 weeks to ship the item. However they require immediate payment from paypal. So inn
