Just to clarify...tapping the camera power wire into the red wire does NOT turn the camera "off" when the D3 is off, it turns it off when the ignition is turned off. A minor detail I have a BOYO camera hooked to my D3. I am not overly impressed with the picture quality, but I guess it serves its purpose. I can't remember the model number right now. I think it's a VLS420 or something like that. Wasn't real expensive. I am sure they have better ones also.

Never heard of this, but why couldn't he just run a wire directly to a parking light??

Just curious, but what kind of car is this in? Amps? (factory or aftermarket) Wiring harness adapter used with install? Almost sounds like a phase problem to me. A little more info than "sounds cheap" might help you get a more accurate diagnosis/solution

Not sure how many of you know about THIS but if you scroll towards the bottom of the page, you can select your vehicle make, model and year and it will give you some info used for installing cruise control's....VSS being one of the things you need. There is also a map that shows were it's at in the car.

I ordered mine from 6ave.com today. $724 shipped for the D3X. What really sucks is....I own a shop and I basically lost out on the rebate all together because I debated for too long as to whether or not I should buy this or not. Then when I made the decision to buy it, my dist. was out and they said it has been discontinued and they are waiting on the replacement. Not being sure about the pricepoint, features, etc... I decided to just bite the bullet and buy it. You can still find the D3 alone some places for $599 to $620 and maybe cheaper, but I just decided to get the whole package sinc
