I have a avic z1 and I recently started to load alot of cds onto the hard drive. Sometimes when playing a song from the library it stops half way through or when ever it feels like and plays the next song. Or somtimes it would just skip a track or two and play the next track in order. I press the track it skipped and it would skip it again. Then later on the track would play with no problem. If anyone can help please give me any ideas of what could be wrong and how to fix it because its very irritating.

I have a z1 thats been working fine till yesterday i was playing a cd and it just stoped playing t tried to press the track back button but accidently pressed the record button. I immediately pressed stop and the cd woulnt play. I pulled out the cd and put it in again and it says unreadable cd. everything i enter is now unreadable cds dvds whatever. I tried turning it off then back on and pressing the reset button but the problem remains. I dont know how because I hardly use the cd part because i have my mp3 player hooked to it and thats how i play all my music. I havent used the cd pla

is there a way to get the music volume to mute automatically when the guidance voice comes on to direct you. i like to listen to my music a little loud and dont want to keep turning down or pausing it to hear what shes saying. the music drowns out the voice althought the voice volume is all the way up.

I know about the sticky positioning , its just that sometimes it takes too long to update where i am. especially if im on a parrallel road. It should realize this when the cornering g's has changed and while on the off ramp im drifting further away from the road. Going on and off a ramp I can deal with cause most of the time it corrects itself, its when I take a short off ramp and on to a parrallel street I get the bothersome problem . i dont know why they say put 100mb of crap on the disc. I tried one time with just about 15 pics in a pictures folder, burned with nero using data settings and viola. not hard at all.

I wanted to know what firmware version would you have before and after the bluetooth update. Mines says 1.000600 or something similar. I bought my z1 used and the 2 wire bypass works. I want to know was mine updated or was the 2 wire bypass able to work without the update being performed..

Ive noticed that my avic z1 when on a freeway and if I took a off ramp to a parrallel street the arrow would refuse to leave off the freeway unless I made a drastic turn or a direction change. or if im on the freeway and theirs a fork in the road onto another freeway it would keep me going on the previous freeway and not the new freeway again unless It deveated far enough from the original freeway and it would jump to my position. ive noticed this going on and off of freeway ramps and other parrallel street turs and so forth. What can be done to correct this and is this fixed in the z2 and z3

I figured it out. I was reading another post and a guy had the similar problem but his had him in the wrong direction and off the road. I just simply reset the 3d calibration. I drove for about 5 mins and it just jumped on the road and has been ok since. I now see what the vss wire does. It keeps the navigation more accurate. Cause at times I noticed that it may miss a road if I pull into a parking lot or a street that runs parrallel to a hwy. besides that everything is ok.

Which wire is the vss wire in the power harness. Im still not understanding how is this wire gonna fix my location the map. Im not ahead or behind where im susposed to be, im either to the right or the left of the road. Sometimes like when im on an e-way its so far left it shows me on the opposite side of the eway.

which wire is it. is it the pink one that says something about speed. And still dont understand how is this gonna put me on the street. i have all satellites lit up, so how is it dead reconing.

Please help. Would a hard reset fix this and if so how do I perform one and if I did that would it erase my firmware updates

I have afew friends and people I know of that never hook up the vss/speed wire and the nav works great. I have all the satellites and my position is right where I am but not on the street. I tried to fix my position and that worked for min untill I made a few turns. I know the maps aren't 100% acurate and other nav systems put you on the street if its off a lil bit. The street names doesnt even come up so I cant really use the navigation.

I fell for the zooquest crap. Had to get my money back from paypal. Is there a wy to find out where he or she is located. All I know so far is that he or she is in MO. I want to give them a peice of my mind. Its a hassel. I could of easily bought a refurbised unit for $709. But the time wasted fuciking around with zooquest I missed out. I went and bought a used one from off craigs list for $600. It was a good deal besides only coming with the wire harness.
