  1. I have a Z1 and would like to have the maps and gracenotes updated to current stuff. I am not interested in doing it myself. Awhile back garrett toomey was doing them but I cant contact him. Does anybody else do this if I send you my HDD? Thanks Jay gtcardude@yahoo.com
  2. I had that problem. All I did was push the reset button with a pen and it cleared up. Try it.
  3. I had the same problem. I tapped into a parking light circut at the fuse box. Works great
  4. Bypass OnStar radio shut down. Yes the OnStar does shut down the radio. This can be bypassed by diconnecting the Switched 12v wire coming from your module to the radio. (the brand of module you have does not matter) When the OnStar is activated the module shuts down the radio by cutting power to this wire and the OnStar takes over. By moving the 12v Switched wire to another source keeps the radio powered up during OnStar operations.   5. How did you determine not to hook up the red power wire? I installed my as the instructions listed and am not having any type of problems. You say your truck is a "classic" body. Is that the same as 2005? Do you have the 3 wire xm/onstar antenna? I want to get the same antenna as yours if the sheet metal is the same. Then I know the contour on the roof seal will be the same.   6. Your installer is correct. To use the OnStar buttons does turn off the radio. It is part of the Metra on-star/Chime interface module. I have the same issue. I am working that problem from 2 different directions. My main goal is to have the OnStar button be a "mute" button. That is pretty simple. You loose OnStar function from the steering wheel. The OnStar still works just fine from the controls on the mirror. Fine with me. I don't use the OnStar at all but I want to retain it for emergency use.
