  1. Wow... so sad... If I knew this would not have worked with my Treo 755p I would have never installed the damn thing! ARG! What a pain in the ass. I even did the Treo update from sprint on my 755p and still no good. That really makes me mad.... -Nigel
  2. Two main questions. How long does GPS take to warm up IE: Antenna signal? I was driving around today and only had 2 red little flags when I looked at the Hardware info: Signal imput.... Also for the Vehicle Dynamic Gauges... how long does that take to show Speed and G's..etc. I hooked it up to my VSS wire on my ECU and when I look at the Speed Pulse it IS receiveing it via the Avid d3, because it makes a beeping noise and goes up and down when I drive but when I switch to the view of the guages it says "this is not avaliabe at this time" or something along those lines... If it ma
  3. Just tried it with my Treo 650.. (old school) It gets ALITTLE further but still does not connect. When searching for the phone it see my old treo, i click it on the touch screen and then it appears to try and connect and make the connection noise but then doesn't. Would this mean I have a bad bluetooth box or head unit? I really don't want to go into the trouble of taking all this out but if something is bad then I will..arg. -Nigel
  4. Arg.. I have setup everything... from the D3 and video camera..etc. EVERYTHING works! w00t w00t! First time doing any of this. However I got the bluetooth box for the d3 and it is not connecting to my Treo 755p. The Avic SEES the "Evil Treo" I click on it via the touch screen and then it says connection error. I even added the Pioneer BT device to "trusted" devices on the Treo755p. This is not the first time I have setup bluetooth.. I know how to set up via headsets..etc. Anyone want to help me out? Thanks much, -Nigel
  5. Are we sure that is the VSS wire... I am looking at the pinout for the 05' STI and it is telling me VSS- Connector no. B135 Terminal 26. From this post the Connector B135 and Terminal 27 is tehFuel Pump Singal 1..?? Really would like to get this working.. I have been trying to install this for the last 3 hours and the damn VSS is not working. I only want to tap the ECU. I have my cluster out and there are at LEAST 3 green/yellow wires... Thanks, -Nigel
  6. w00t w00t!!! I am so excited. I am in absolute aw in this site! Seriously! Everyone is great and it took me about 1 week of reading stuff to figure out how to actually wire it up. I soldered my wiring harness and did the mod the last two nights. I even did something a little different rather than tapping additional lines for power for the bluetooth box and camera. I spliced (soldered) two extra wires into the 12v yellow wiring on the avics d3 harness so that I can just plug in the camera and bluetooth box. And since I am grounding everything to the chasis I had a spare grou
  7. I just received my CrimeStopper SV-5110 backup camera. It's got 380 lines of resolution. Their site says it has 420 lines of resolution but the manual that it came with said 380... I plugged it into my computer power supply's 12v rail so I could see what it looked like hooked up to my tv.. It's not bad but it's not that clear/camcorder look that I was hoping for... IE "crystal clear" Is this "normal" for backup cameras? Given this was being projected on a 27" tv,.... I didn't have time to hook it up to my 40".. But I take it that 380 lines of resolution on a Bigger display i
  8. WOW!!! Thats bad ass ... seriously! I just got my crime stopper camera and thought it looked good but now I do wish I had night vision... I'll probably get pics up shortly after the install is done. -Nigel
  9. ThisIsTakeSome, I see that it has IR LEDS.. how is it at night? Do you have to switch it to do night vision or is it automatic? Would it be too much trouble to ask for a night pic ? Looks good! I will post pics of my camera here in a couple days. getting it tomorrow. Thanks, -Nigel
  10. Looks good! How do you have it mounted? I see that pioneer supplies double sided tape but that just worries me as I feel some asshat would come by and try to rip it off... -Nigel
  11. I thought the d3 will read higher (double the resolution) But shrink it to the 500x240. -Nigel
  12. Where did you put the bluetooth box? I am trying to figure out where to put it in my sti.... Thanks -Nigel
  13. Why does pioneer not make a specific remote for the d3? Seems like it would be a good margin piece on their part... -Nigel
  14. So just a general question. These are the screen that can be changes? Bootup. - Screen that shows for just a few seconds... Then it goes into Background Screen.. Is that the only ones that can be changed? Thanks, -Nigel
  15. That's awesome. Definitly smaller than what I had imagined! Is it weather proof? And it looks like the angle can be adjusted. How do you make it stay at an angle...IE: driving on the road and hitting bumps.. what causes it not to eventually get of of place? -Nigel
  16. Thanks for the info! May sound silly but how do I know where a constant 12v line is on my car. 05' Subaru STI. Thanks much, -Nigel
  17. So just to clarify... The D3 can not be shut off via it's stock form. IE: My subaru 6-disc player you push the volume button and it shuts off the unit or turns the unit on..etc. The Avic by default does NOT do this without a simple toggle switched wired into the red ACC wire. Is that correct? Thanks, -Nigel
  18. So when I got my avic like 2 weeks ago it did NOT come with bluetooth.. I asked the guy at BBY and he said the new ones are paired with the bluetooth adaptor! I did the exchange today and now have the bluetooth adaptor free!!! Freaking awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Question... how do you guys have the bluetooth hooked up? Constant 12v source or the accessory 12v? Just a little confused on which is best... For my backup camera I was told to tap the red wire off the avic's wiring harness.. so that way the camera always has power to when I want to switch it to rear view..etc. Thanks
  19. Just to clarify...tapping the camera power wire into the red wire does NOT turn the camera "off" when the D3 is off, it turns it off when the ignition is turned off. A minor detail I have a BOYO camera hooked to my D3. I am not overly impressed with the picture quality, but I guess it serves its purpose. I can't remember the model number right now. I think it's a VLS420 or something like that. Wasn't real expensive. I am sure they have better ones also. I don't think that's too bad, unless you think it would be better for the camera to shut off when the Avic is shut off?
  20. I think if you post you should do both, what the camera looks like and the output. I can't stand doing google searches for stuff like that because everyone calls it something different or it's not correct information...etc. Also should list what camera you have... I know I would have benifited from seeing a thread with different cameras/outputs! I like the tailgate camera.. looks cool! -Nigel
  21. That's so awesome! I was NEVER into car audio/video... I am more of a performance aspect person.. but getting an avic and having it sit here in the box is killing me I guess I am just blown away by it actually and how much stuff it really can do!! I am used to my 6 disc cd player that I have had in my cars for the past 5 or so years...lol -Nigel
  22. You are flipping kidding me!?! You can create folders on the disc (IE: Rock, Rap, Techho, Classical) Put the differnent style songs in the folders and the D3 will be able to read the folders and when you push the Rock folder you will see your rock music? That is awesome!!! w0w, I am liking this more and more! I sooooooooooooo want to put it in my car now!!! Just waiting for my backup camera... -Nigel
  23. Bumping this because I too would like to see more pics of different cameras..etc. I just ordered a Crime Stopper SV-5110 Bar camera: -Nigel
  24. Here is a question. If you make an MP3 cd/dvd. And say there are over 200 songs on the disc.... How do you scroll through it all.. is just like: Track 1 Track 2 Track 3 Track 4 etc.... OR Is it like this: 1. Guns and Roses - November Rain 2. Cold Play - Clocks 3. Onyx - Slam 4. Crystal Method - Roll it up etc... Thanks, -Nigel
